I think your bus is great but I do feel some funky 70s style stripes would funk it up. I'm thinking some orange stripes that wrap around the bus.
Cleaned and hoovered Bolly....again lol, decided to go for a drive to cheer myself up, went all round Cannock Chase and took a few pictures, nothing arty though i only use a mobile phone i haven't got a proper camera apart from my old 35mm film one.Hope you enjoy. And finally to soothe el's o.c.d...
Your'r soon out of gas And Rick,,please pay attension to that cht,,320-330 is fine, 350 and you are in the danger sone.
Might be,,all tin prsent ? timing could be a bit high, maybe you are pushing it a bit hard in 4. gear, when 3. maybe would be a better option ? these babies need som revs you know. Could also be running a bit lean.
gears won't be the issue it's an auto, some tin could be missing? as it's had all the heat exchangers removed and just running j-tubes, it doesn't even have the fan for cab heating in the engine bay, unsure about the timing as i haven't checked or the mixture because it's fuel injection, i left it alone because it flew through the mot with real low emmisions so i thought there can't be much wrong with it, although you have got me worried now.
I love your van Ricky. realy enjoy your photos'. looks very cared for now. My local VW guru warned me off fitting gauges. They are not always that accurate and you end up looking at them all the time instead of just driving and enjoying. If your engine is well set up it should be ok. Think how hot its been in the USA. VW never saw the need for them. Keep it simple. If you ever come accros a stash of chrome overiders i'de love some. I'm off to repaint my CE11. ;D
wow that looks better .the bus looks great .i miss mine well done mate . i need some thing to clean .il put a pic up rick of my bettle in my your other rides later.
Thanks guys, vinny, i know what you mean about looking at gauges lol, and you're right about it being hot, think how warm it gets in California, but Holsten knows his stuff so i'm wondering, i'll get the timing checked it's 7.5 before t.d.c i think joker told me? as for electronic ignition, i'm unsure, my neighbour is a old school mechanic and he says maintained points and rotor arm plugs and condenser is fine so i think why pay the price considering i'll probably only do 1500 miles a year, how would the mixture get set with fuel injection though? i'm sorry i sound dumb but i'm a diesel man myself, i thought fuel injection did it all itself? And el, photo's don't tell the full story this van is far from brilliant close up but it's better than it was, one day it will be even better but i need to sort my finances out first, i skint myself buying it lol.
