it's ok i don't mind the hijack, i've done a few on the old forum, if your bus isn't anything "special" (no offence meant) and you didn't like the original colour, then do whatever you feel, as i say i wouldn't pick brown at all but now it's shiny it isn't too bad.
It's somewhat multicoloured at the moment, I *think* the original colour was off White? The Mr will know that geekier stuff!
well, whatever you decide don't forget when you're driving it it's any colour you like so who cares! just get it done get using it and sod what anyone thinks, belive me, i've heard all the insults in the world (allbeit jokey) hence the "poo" bit in my title.
It's White on the documents but has had a nice (using the term loosely) black spray over here and there, got a yellow drivers door and a White passenger door then random red oxide splurges here and there courtesy of yours truly. It is a twin slider without a roof conversion so semi rare I believe. I/we want to keep it that way but as the better half mentioned colour choice is hard. Don't want to be like all the others but don't want a custom job either.
Hi Rickyrooo love the bus mate, cant wait to see it in the flesh. I dont think you are too far away from me...hairy-son ford isn't it. Just wondered if you are still interested in those chrome tall front overriders I have. Just had bumpers painted and it seems a shame to spray these white when the chrome is so good on them and after seeing your bus and chrome bumpers they would blend better with yours. Let me know before I stick them up on ebay,in a week or so. like i said the chrome is fab but there is some rust on the back that needs sorting ( something that wasn't mentioned when I bought them...from one of our very own!!! ) but nothing that would stop me buying them, as indeed it didnt. mobile is 07903 997083 daytime till 9pm
Unfortunafely due to the server failiure you're gonna have to put up with pictures in an odd order, continuing on from before and after, this picture is the first time i saw Bolly "in the flesh" and i did wonder what the hell i had spent 7 grand on.... But again, only a few months later here she is last friday outside work (friday is my drive the van to work day - as a treat)
last weekend some of the Stafford and Stoke vw club invited me to a barbeque in one of their gardens where i got to spend the 1st night sleeping in the van......up until now we had used the awning to sleep in, it was ok but i will need more padding on the matress - my hip was killing the next day.
if you ever wonder what you get when you send off to Germany for the birth certificate for your bus, here is mine for bolly. As an edit it is amazing to say that volkswagen have made an error on the certificate, FOG LIGHTS! here is a message i had from our resident expert Birdy. Ricky. They are wrong. 027 is Plate with emissions value, engine with catalyst. If it's right then there are a lot of buses out there that should have fog lights, mine included. And 005 is heater outlet under the rear seat. l am surprised Volkswagen can get it so wrong. l do see however the they have got the date of manufacture correct. Regards Stuart
one of the jobs i did was to remove the nasty monza 4 tip that was on the van, i also fitted rear mudflaps and a genuine westy parking sensor.....i meant towbar, all the history of my van is on my you tube - the link is below.
Here is my forum member sticker, thanks to Halifrank for printing it wrong i don't use a capital or have a gap between the last o and the 1, but in fairness to the daft old fart he did offer to change my username to match the error, and by offer to change i mean, he changed it to suit the sticker plus any other name he could think of, hence sometimes you may see me called rickypoo or any other turd based reference.
i have the fly screen and bay curtain and also the hammock cloth for over the front seats, i would be interested if anyone wishes to sell the bars as they did not come with the van. Also in the future i need a centre between seat table and a Berlin rear table, at the moment i am using a Helsinki table as i didn't have one and it came at the right money,
One of the "benefits" of a Deluxe is the addition of a clock in the 3rd pod, benefit is actually a bit of a bugbear as it's bleedin' noisy when you're trying to sleep! I also have 3 clocks that i presume were fitted in the 70's? one showing voltage, one showing amps and the other shows head temperature.
