i quite like the colour very retro 8) unsure about it being an automatic tho the brown dash made me giggle dunno why just found it amuzing think its because it reminded me of my grannies kitchen when I was a kid ;D

What got me suspicious was that low emmision test,,if it runs lean,,heads will get warm, while oiltemp stays ok.
I've asked for help on local forum how to check/adjust the injection system

 

yeah, cheers - it does stand out, i walked round the whole of camperjam and didn't see another, i've only seen pictures of others on here never actually seen one for real, think they only did 1500 although some say 2500?

 

Hey Ricky, I,ll look in my Bentley book tommorow. I,m sure its just a screw on the air flow meter. Do you have a print out of the MOT emmision read out. It's the Co% bit. A weak mixture will cause the engine to run hot. I'll guess 1.5% is good but will check for sure.

HC = 116 ppm PASS min- max 1200

The CO% can be adjusted and it should be between 0.5 and 1.5 % via the screw on the air flow meter,
but this is ONLY the reading on idle. The ECU will set the mixture at all other times via sensors on the engine. If the vans running ok and passed the mot then it's probbably best left alone.
The timing should be set at 7.5 Deg. BTDC with vacuum pipes left on.
It's worth noting that the timing is affected by the points gap so you need this spot on first. As the points get worn the timing moves.

Very nice bus. I just watched the video of it. I didn't realize we had the same interior. Is that correct for a Champagne? The paint is such a nice warm rich brown. My uncle had a brown transporter when I was a kid, but I don't know if it was a champagne. It was the same color though.
It's too bad your table isn't the same color as the cabinetry. It looks like a much better size than the original. My table is original but it's just so big it's nothing but in the way, so it lives in the garage.
Amazing stuff, that buffing compound of yours. G3 was it? I wonder if I can get it here. Speaking of useful glop, do they sell Plumber's Goop over there? It's incredible. One of it's most popular uses is gluing laminate back down like on your closet door. It's one of the few options where you would not have to remove the old glue prior to fixing it. Just Goop it and clamp it. It has a grip of hundreds of pounds per square inch and is impervious to intense heat. Give it a try if you can find it.

 

hi, yes the interior is as standard for a deluxe berlin westfalia, the reason the table is wrong is because i didn't get a table with it - i presume it's lost (as is the front dash mounted one) it should be dark to match the rest and hinged, the one i have is out of a helsinki spec' hence it being smaller and lighter.....i will get a correct one in time but the one i have came too cheap to not have.
