Ok, here we go then This is my dash top, as Para wants his in satin, and I'm gonna be taking a mould from mine, so I need it in high gloss First shot with flash, and some fumes still hanging second shot without flash. It gives a better representation of the colour to my eye!! Third is a closer shot, again without the flash!! I'll get some outside shots tomorrow if the weather is as good as it has been today!!
Looks loads better in that last pic than it did in the tin paul If its the correct colour it will seem like its changed again in the daylight Hope you have some good daylight tmw for the outside pics
I chose it because it doesent look overly military like nato green its a civvilian colour thats already seen around the countryside on landrovers This means im not screaming the impession survival nutter when im parked in a supermarket carpark or picking the eldest up from school I think its a little retro looking so should suit the shape of a bus And the great thing about it is it does appear to change colour during different lighting much the same the hedgrows and woodland colours do This means im not hiding but merely blending with my surroundings when i camp The only dub colour ive come accross that mimicks it for its shade changing is vw velvet green but i came to the conclusion it wouldent look right with my chunky pop top If i had a devon roof i would have chose the velvet green
It'll be nice against the white fella!! Nice choice but I'd stick with the gloss? Why would you want your dash satin?
Ever driven a bay with a gloss dash top?? Bright sunlight refracts off it and you can't see out of the bottom half of the windscreen... pretty dangerous really
No white on my bus im afraid Pauls painting the pop top the same green and the bumpers and custom bars are getting powdercoated satin black It may not be the best colour to be a trophy trap but its the best colour ive found for parking up in the shade and adding to the cooking pot Pauls going to add a matting agent to the paint when he does that dash top for my bus as i dont want reflections in the window during those autumn low sunsets The main dash panel will be done the same because it will hide the scuffs and scrapes better It will feature a custom alloy panel hosting my dials and switches lol I need worry gauges as im a worrier Paul is one of the few people that actually understands and appreciates my ideas when it comes to dubs Ive never heard him say the words Its not possible and i like that about him
Ahh, problem is that I havent driven a bus never mind my own properly before, so thanks for the heads up lol!

Next time you're at a show, have a wander round and check them out... There's loads of bays with gloss (normally white too) dash tops!! First time I saw it, I was at bug jam (one of the hot ones) and I was walking past a bay and I was like WTF is that on the windscreen... needless to say it was the reflection of the dashtop
Suns shining here today paul whats it like up at yours? Lol can you tell im eager to see that dash top in the daylight

Think it's about time I joined the green club. PeaSoup is a 1976 US Import Westfalia Campmobile. Here is a picture of her a few days after she arrived at our house at the beginning of last year. Lots has happened to her since, and am frantically trying to get things finished off so that we can use her this season. I don't have good pictures of her at the moment and so will take some when I get chance and add a couple. Biggest changes I'm doing are turning the 3/4 width bed in to full width so that we can seat our three kids, reworking the kitchen unit to fit a more modern fridge in it (as I can't use the original one due to the full width bed), moving spare wheel on to the front (because of the reworking of the kitchen unit and because we need as much space as possible inside with five of us and a dog!), and redoing all the laminate on the cupboards, kitchen units and side panels etc. This is all "nearly" complete and so again will add some photos of all this once it is finished. The main big job I have left to do is fitting a new roof canvas and mending a crack in the fibreglass pop-up. Am hoping the weather improves in the next couple of weeks so that I can get on with that. Anyway hello all your fellow green people - and yes please include me for a green club sticker! Nick...
