Nice day yesterday for a bit of handbrake van-tinkering with @Chrisd. And I changed my front gearshift rod bush - again… ED044213-DEF0-4683-9076-1FD663CD3711.jpeg

Connected one of my dashboard cigarette lighter socket boxes to the redundant original Devon water tap power switch, so I can turn it on and off without needing the ignition key turned on.
At the moment they are only powered from the starter battery, but that should be being charged from solar or hookup.

When I get home I will rewire to make them powered off the leisure battery by default.

  6. CSP wiper motor: 80 euros. Generic T4 wiper motor: £19.95. I suspect they're much the same unit.

No idea whether the CSP ones come with a connector.

Drove it. Went to a car/bike/tractor type show at Grindley on the Hill near Bawtry. A bit of something for everyone. 20220612_150324.jpg 20220612_134038.jpg 20220612_133857.jpg 20220612_145222.jpg

  14. A bit more body work where the dreaded rust was showing...just to embarrass @snotty ;)

Needs some more work before topcoat, but coming along nicely:)

And dropped the engine on the Bug to change the clutch disk and pressure plate; the clutch disk seems to be fooked, no wonder it was a bit smelly.

  15. Got the horn working and fitted the press button, wired up the reverse lights, added a heavier duty cable to the starter and took it for a spin round the ‘burbs :)

After a recent jolly in the Dales needed a wash and brush up.
Reversed it out the garage and emptied the fresh water tank down the drive.
Cleaned the cooker and fridge so ready for the next time.
Noted that it's time for a gearbox rebuild, ugh, so starting to look at the logistics.
All the same he drove well except in traffic.
