Long gone! Shouldn't be let loose with a spanner if the truth be known.
My "friend" put the TV remote in the fridge

  2. A friend of mine (honest!) was about to phone up his bank and cancel his bank cards after frantically searching for his wallet all day until he found it under the cheese in his fridge:D

  3. I almost cancelled all my cards during a similarly frantic search for the wallet.
It was in my pocket all along. I even thought i’d possibly been pickpocketed, so checked there first.

    Student haze days.

I have a mischievous ghost that frequents my house. He hides things from me, my glasses mostly, and then puts them back exactly where they should be after I've spent half an hour turning the house upside down. He does also put things in the fridge occasionally....

  6. In my experience if you can't find something the fridge is the best place to look first:thumbsup:

Removing the starter motor has unfortunately beaten me.
Type one engines and no over-engine hatch means that the hidden D-bolt nut behind the fan shroud is too difficult to loosen when it appears it was done up by Geoff Capes (I'm old, please feel free to insert a more modern strongman of your choice!). I know when I am beaten.
Still it was a good chance to give the oil bath air cleaner a little holiday on the driveway, and I might even give things a bit of a degrease and clean whilst it's out of the way.
I'm also going to clean up all the contacts underneath on the starter motor whilst the battery is disconnected in case it's just a case of dodgy wiring and it all miraculously works perfectly again as a result.
I'll be taking the hammer with me on my holidays in June, and making sure the AA are on standby.
    Hey ho.

EDIT! Scrub that. Encouraged by some motivational speaking from @Dubs I have conquered.
    Geoff Capes stand aside!
It also turns out I just had the wrong music on... I though Deep Purple would be the strength I needed, but no! It was Fairport Convention all along :)

Deep in my sub-conscious I remembered how well my van went with so little pedal when I'd guessed the jetting, before I starting messing about trying to get lean idle cruising, so I've put it back like that with a 60 idle jet. Certainly starts really easily now! Don't say anything.

  12. Spent a frantic half day looking for my wallet, convinced I'd left it at Tesco, back and forth there, nothing. Got home to make the calls then recalled hiding it in the coal skuttle. Immediate relief but with concern as to why I'd hidden it......?

  13. I appear to have blown a fuse.. plastic bodies really are rubbish! Wipers seemed to get stuck mid swipe ( they were dry) and when I stopped to have a look found a Blob of red plastic in the fuse box![IMG]

Have you taken your gearbox out?

If so pop some new bushes in, I did Majors before the scooby swap & it was worth the effort. Wolfsburg West ones from Schofields fit spot on.
