That's a shame. See if you can get a new old stock or a good used one. I just did this on mine and the ones available new are not a great fit. Even with the specific housing

New discs and pads, about time I think !!

 

Fddled with my handbrake cables again, drilled out the threaded bars so I can wire lock them.

And who might that be?

 

Sat in the drivers seat and acted like a 9 year old, wildly playing with the controls, wondering when I'll be able to drive her again with this smashed finger . The k-wires (2 of) come out in a couple of weeks so I'm hoping to be able to get back behind the wheel soon after. The heavy steering and handbrake lever are going to be the two main concerns. That's actually a lie, I'm more worried that I won't be able to wield the spanners like I used to, was hoping to be pulling the engine and swapping out the gearbox in a couple of months. Fingers crossed - right hand only!

 

After a two week hiatus while we went on holiday, I finally got to button up the new engine install and take him for a spin for the first time since march.
After a brief comedy pause while I worked out why he kept dying when I put it in reverse ( had the reverse light wire on the wrong tab on the coil ) he ran really well. Made me realise how bad the old motor was.
Slight stumble at low revs when pulling away, but I think I just need to dial the new carb in a bit. All in all, I am calling it a win.
