  1. Okay, could i not now use the 12v switch to the washer pump? Or am. I getting confused to how this operates.

Basically would like to have the wipers operate a few times when Washers are sprayed.

  2. The relay’s connected to both the delay wipe toggle switch and the pushbutton switch for the washer pump. When you have a wash, the wipers automatically run for about five wipes. Very neat!

  3. Decided adding stuff to my to do list wasn't getting anything finished. Quick look under van, then ceremonially lowered to ground. Handbrake checked, as I'd gutted the brake system and put the servo in, then a veeeeery slow roll down the drive to test the brakes. Plenty of braking, and servo generates forehead-bonking on windscreen if you stomp on them.

Quite a lot of pedal travel, which I'll investigate tomorrow, starting with nipping the rear drums up. Then a slow roll down the road (turning right, to avoid hill and possible embarrassment), good workout, then check for leaks.

Vacuum gauge on dash deffo needs an anti-pulse valve, as it's driven by no 4 cylinder only and gets the hysterical wobbles at low revs. Works quite well, though. Very informative.

My 123 arrived but I'm too busy prepping (tidying up!) for my boat/home's 4 yearly safety inspection.

Lifted up one inlet manifold end enough to poke a sort of pipe cleaner across the manifold and drag out ... no aluminium flakes .. from when I dremeled away the manifold yesterday. So I put it back together, and there was a hissing ... It turns out I forgot to reconnect the vacuum hose going to the air cleaner hot air flap, as I think I knocked it off without realising...
The hissing was driving me mad as I could hear it but the end of the pipe had dropped down the back of the air cleaner. The idle speed was high and it was idling lean. Put the hose back together and it all came together and idled nicely at 14.5 : 1 AFR.

At least my fibre glass reinforced JB Weld doesnt seem to have any significant holes in it as the hissing was only the hose ..

  12. Tidied up garage, cleaned me tools - very soothing.

Bit chilly in the evening, so fired up the Eberspacher for a bit. That thing chucks out some heat. Was too lazy to fit the exhaust, so was treated to gusts of carbon monoxide from under the van. Turned it off again.

  15. Unusual that the gearbox mounts need changing. What’s the matter with them?

    Handle refurb.
When we did Chip back in 2013/4, we fitted a set of handles from a well know supplier which turned out, through no fault of their own, to have been substandard. All 9 of them split and cracked.
We've had the replacements, to my shame, for quite a while and today...

I'm only a teeny OCD,, so you can imagine how pleasing it is to match cupboard handles to hob knobs:)

That's gone over my head. In what way do your blue cupboard handles match your grey cooker knobs?
