Removed the fan hub and seal.
No idea as yet what to press the new one in with. 62-42-10. A big socket if it's deep enough...I doubt it.

Off with the heat risers, control boxes and concertina pipes. Servo pipe disconnected.
    46mm socket looks good.

The bolt and washer are inside the socket so plenty of room.

I'll get this one done before I pull the engine out...when the seals arrive.

  8. It’s just a LED plus R connected across 87 and 31.

  9. Nice idea

  10. At least I know it’s working (which it does).

  11. If the contacts were rated higher, they’d make a perfect split charge relay.

Got annoyed with a day of failure at work in the bus so decided to fix the sliding door.

The front striker was quite chewed, so that came off and I measured the remains of the rectangular hole in it. 23mm high, 12mm wide.

Fortunately its some kind of mild steel.

I built it up with a couple of beads of weld then filed it down again.
    20200615_183832.jpg

It was a right pain getting it back in the correct position.

The lock is clever- there is a lower hooked part that rides up over the bottom of the striker plate and then drops down inside the striker plate.

    20200615_183001.jpg
When either the spring on later doors operates it because the rear lock is latched in second position , or you lift the handle on my door, a peg pops out. This stops the hook from lifting up.

    20200615_183913.jpg
Until you pull the handle down. The peg pops back in and the hook bounces up momentarily as the door moves back. Its unlocked and free.

The little latch inside the door only works if the peg is sticking out. As you pull the handle it unlocks the little latch inside.

In order to get it to work I also had to stand off the striker plate on a couple of cylinder head stud washers, as otherwise the hook wouldnt drop fully when the rear lock was latched on the second click.
This is the first time my door has worked properly in 10 years..

2 hours of frustration and a blood blister from shutting the door on my finger.

  18. I didn't find they suited me, too bright, too bluey. Having said that, the orange indicator LEDs are amazing from Cree, shine right thru my red lens covers :)

  19. I prefer to be seen, i love the bus and everything period, but additional safety is key. Led back lights and third brake light has made the difference with people noticing my brakes.
