  1. I have the dual action one for polishing the boat. Battery lasts an impressive amount of time.

Your strapping looks ok for corners but that's going to fall off the shelf if you use your brakes. :)

Agreed , precarious..I would have just slid it in the cargo door.. less height to lift..
And if you leave it more stripped down a strongish person can lift assembled engine and cylinders/heads by themselves..

I’ve made a timber frame which locks it into place behind it so should be well supported :)

It's as I thought, I'd omitted to tighten the lock nut on the exhaust tappet for cylinder #1. Sorted and been on a 100mile test drive.

I was missing a bolt to secure the exhaust to the heat exchanger. Fitted and no more popping or farting

  12. Just be brave and fire it up, mate. There'll always be stuff that needs tweaking.

Took him for a Pickering, Malton, Scarborough run and back today with the intention of a: running out of fuel and b: trying to get the recently fitted fuel gauge and sender to register.
Approx 20 litres in the tank, with gauge showing a third full before and after the trip. When static with ignition on and not started it is showing 1/4 full. Definitely an earth problem somewhere.... watch this space.

Also noticed that a headlight bulb had blown so probably look into a LED set up.

Otherwise the van goes really well I am very pleased to say. I think that the longer fourth rear will be good for cruising on motorways, he holds 70 comfortably.

  15. What is that dangly thing after the fuel regulator?

Fitted a new compressor fridge and it's amazing the difference. Also fitted new radio.
