Apparently she wasn't even a thatcher, in fact never been on a roof in her life..... how'd you like that Mail readers? I bet they never told you that did they? (Have I missed the boat on this one by the way?......)
Breaking news A Grantham man has had a tattoo in tribute to Maggie and her part in inventing Mr Whippy ice cream. The tattoo is of a Mr Whippy ice cream with her head made to look like the ice cream bit.
i was amazed at how much they've all aged to look exactly like their rubber-face, vacuous spitting image characters.
This Thatcher thing - it's still on the news and it bugs me TBH. She really was a demented twit. Why the flashy funeral, she was nothing special and certainly nothing to remember fondly. In comparisson to say Clement Atlee, she was nothing but flotsum. Rebuilding the country after WW2 and laying the foundations for 30 years of economic growth and prosperity whilst paying for the dismantling of an empire, creating free healthcare for all and reaching an accord with all parties lasting over 30 years, for the good of the country rather than the wealthy is somewhat of a bigger achievement than Thatcher's debacle. What Thatcher was best at was lying TBH. Before Thatcher, the 'left' had low unemployment, a much smaller welfare bill and far fewer "scroungers". Before Thatcher the Welfare system was a true safety net. Thatcher created mass unemployment then blamed those who couldn't find jobs for their situation. The scrounger was born and has been nurtured (and equally condemned) by each successive Thatcherite government right up to this one. The irony is that the unions were not running the country and everyone who remembers "those dark days" are actually remembering a very short period of discord during a very long period of political harmony (the post-war consensus), economic growth, low unemployment and low public spending (and I include the pre-Thatcher Conservative administrations in that praise). Thatcher started the runaway public spending, high unemployment, political disharmony, and economic stagnation only for it to be carried on by Blair, Brown and, despite their claims, the ConDems who have failed miserably to get the economy under control. I really do hope her funeral is marked by discontent, protest and that that protest gets a chance to be seen and heard and marr this occassion. Before anyone chimes in with "she was a family woman blah", she could have a quiet funeral and even her own children don't want to live in this country she apparently made so great. I was going to leave this thread, but seeing as it got bumped and I'm in the mood.
discontent and protest? even the rozzers think so http://metro.co.uk/2013/04/10/marga...ocial-media-for-potential-protesters-3590428/ i've reached 'thatcheration' point
is that what you gt if you put nasa url in backwards, or summat? bilderberg group have a lot to answer for.
One good thing may come from Mrs T dying, and that is to make the nation look back at the last 40 or 50 years, see how bad she was and bring focus on the fact the current lot are 10x as heartless, just more devious.
may reveal to a new generation what an odious person she was and draw parallels with current lot and policies and aid the process of bringing this lot down in the next election. fingers crossed.
I have heard varying reports of the funeral costs ranging between 3 million and 10 million which ever it is , we are paying for it , talk about chucking petrol on the fire , Does anyone remember Dennis being the ceo of a company that produced chemicals that were banned in the states but funnily enough were ok to use here
i think the funeral will cost approx £10m but the MILLIONAIRE family will pick up "some" of the cost. how much will come out of public coffers has not, to my knowledge, being released yet. just the same as the amount of politicians who have their (or family) fingers in the big pies of fracking. state sanctioned corruption and cronyism.
