I agree but feel that this summation has not gone far enough into the heinous acts and odious nature of the subject to provide evidence on which this 'diagnosis' has been based. and that offends me!

So no naughty discussion please, this is an anti Thatcher thread. If you liked her, please look for the Nice Mrs T thread and read no further on this one. A Baroness is a peer of the realm and as such sits in the House of Lords, the upper chamber in the Houses of Parliament. Lady Thatcher was a Baroness and as such had a life peerage - there are 2 types of peer, hereditary peers, and life peers. A lot of politicians tend to get awarded hereditary peerages for service in government, see for example Lord Geoffrey Archer, Lord Peter Mandelson, etc. There are still a number of hereditary peers in the House of Lords, these are people who became Lords because they inherited them, for example the actor Christopher Guest (best known as Nigel Tuffnel in Spinal Tap) is Lord Haden-Guest, and therefore his wife, Jamie Lee Curtis, is Lady Haden-Guest.
