We live in a transparent world ..and it will get clearer and clearer . Technology in weaponry always moves quickly when everybody feels threatened

I heard it might of been a pear ...which is why every thing has gone rotten according to a book by Ethel Simson who is orchard specialist in Israel

  3. I share Miss Rosie's thoughts. I feel the French people will be concerned over the influx of large numbers of refugees from countries like Syria and may wonder if within those refugees lurk the terrorists biding their time . We should be concerned ourselves. Britain has been and still is a welcoming country but we have seen recently a number of those people we let in go off to Syria to fight. They pretend to be British citizens but clearly they are not.

We seem unable to prevent illegals entering the UK and the worry is we have no idea who these people are and why they are here. It would be naive to think they are all coming here to work.

I mentioned on another thread recently about the 2 young Syrians knocking on doors trying to sell stuff. I asked them who they were and with little English they explained they were army chaps, Britsh Army I joked? , no they said, Syrian. Thats the trouble, were they legit refugees or illegals? Why were they here?

There was a demo by EDL in Bradford today, thought in light of the Paris murders they might try and make some capital out of it, thankfully, perhaps because the weather has been so bad here today, they only managed about 80 of them and it all passed off without incident apparently.

i've tried to type something as a "general non political non racist way" but i'm really struggling 'cos i'm not intelligent in politics or religion, all i can say is my liberal thoughts are slowly ebbing away and i'm slowly trusting my fellow human less and less be them black white yellow or whatever, maybe that's what they want, all i can see is trouble and it will never get better.

Just been on the news that one of the cowardly murdering ba5tards from last night passed thorough Greece last month masquerading as a refugee, Oh well lots of people said isis were doing that but they were dismissed a racists and bigots. If this report is true I think this is not the way they had wished to be proved right

  9. Agreed this does happen throughout history. Churchills history books describes the cycle very effectively.

  12. There's always something to be scared of though and that's what the terrorists want. That's what the cold war did, that's what the Irish troubles did, this is just the modern version, just as disgusting................fear.

Jason Manford had a facebook entry deleted, I think he felt like a lot of people feel right now. It was pretty raw what he said, and he's been accused of Islamophobia because of it. Reading it I just can't see that at all, I think its a very human response. Its on the Huffington Post website if you want a read.

  17. I had a happy time working in Oman some years ago and found the Omanis very charming and friendly people. It is a muslim country and while very traditional it is progressive and looking to the future. Foreign people of many nationalities and religions were welcomed and accepted. There was an atmosphere of tolerance to others.

I felt very safe there and my family also and we lived in the community not in a compound, but I felt the ordinary people did have concerns about what was happening in other countries in the middle east which were becoming unstable and while I was there, quite a lot of refugees came in from Iraq.

Just like us, they want to have a peaceful life. Sadly there are some out there who only want to destroy other peoples lives and in our country we must wake up and recognise the dangers.

  18. Certainly not all Muslims are bad, no way. My best mate & neighbour of 30+yrs is Muslim and he goes extremely quiet at times like this because it shatters what people think of Islam that bit more.
    Making all Muslims look bad.

Jason Manford was very angry. But I agree with him.

  19. I think it would be better if our British muslims didnt go so quiet at these times. Far better if they openly spoke out and condemned the bad people. I wonder what they are feeling about the possible influx of thousands of Syrians.

We should be mindful that the attacks in Paris now and recently were indiscriminate and likely that muslims were amongst those killed and injured.

They do. Its just never reported much, but they do, just as they did after the Charlie Hebdo attacks, the Mumbai attacks and so on. It never gets much coverage in our media and then they get accused of not speaking out.
