Corbyn has said he will stay until the membership can sort out his replacement, probably next year, , Corbyn in a skirt I suspect.

  2. OK what about a comparison between a train driver and a private in the infantry/able seaman in the navy/aircraftman in the RAF ...

it is not a common practice all the drivers work to a roster of diagrams if a diagram is uncovered because of say a vacancy and there is no spare drivers they may well ask if any drivers want to work their rest day His pay for the day could well be less than the fine they have to pay if the service is cancelled

It wont fall apart but its going to hurt.

The last time we were on our own we ended up borrowing off the IMF with our economy in tatters. Just as well we had North Sea oil then..

And our children now have to undo the damage..

  5. As far as trade is concerned we will continue to sell into the EU and we will continue to buy from them. We need each other. But after Brexit we will be able to negotiate our own trade deals with the rest of the World. That's what we did before joining the EU.

Borrowing vast amounts was a major feature of the Labour manifesto. The Tories will borrow for capital investment projects.

Can anyone tell me why parliament if resisting a Scottish independance referendum, give them what they want.

  7. I have no idea what a private/infantryman/ able seaman earns but don't they get food and accommodation paid for as well? I suppose its comparable to someone who works in the buffet car of the train? Once you go through the ranks you probably earn well enough?
Do service men and women earn more than the minimum wage? If they do then they get better paid than lots of people in the care sector?

a quote from not so many years ago

"Speaking in Downing Street, Mr Cameron said the result was decisive.

He said: "Now the debate has been settled for a generation, or as Alex Salmond has said: 'Perhaps for a lifetime'.

"So there can be no disputes, no re-runs; we have heard the will of the Scottish people.""

  11. So what happens if the world economy prospers (assuming that's what everyone wants now?) and the interest rate rises as it tends to do when economies heat up?

  12. The table above a train driver earns £50k to £60k, I believe the most senior non commissioned rate will never achieve the highest figure of that bracket and food/accommodation is only subsidised not free, nor is there any overtime, so your average service person who is prepared to go to war gets less and gets told when to take their holidays.

  13. And knows the score before they sign up. We've had this conversation before.
