diesel fiesta is £30 a year i'd rather have that.
Mk3 golf ragtop. £120 a year. All the pleasures and ridicule of your girly Beetle but with wind in the hair fun. I couldn't live without my Golf.
Beetle is off for mot today, i'm assured it's ok to drive untaxed if going to a pre booked mot....so the mot station i'm using is 30miles away and i'm going through the wedding details with moley76 while he mot's it but i'm sure that'll be fine........
I didn't know you and Moley were getting hitched. That's nice.
Congrats from me but won't Malc be jealous?
well we now have a nice 13 month ticket one advisory, traction control light on which i knew sensor somewhere but advisories mean jack so all good.
Interesting issue Rick...driving to a booked MoT without tax _ there appear to be 2 bits of law at odds here!!
If a car is SORN'ed you have to drive it to an MoT with no tax as you can't tax it without an MoT, but it is still illegal to drive a vehicle on the road with no tax!!
...but you can drive to a booked MoT test without tax as long as the vehicle is "roadworthy" - how do you know its roadworthy without an MoT....
The other issue of course is Insurance - you need to read the small print of your particular policy, mine specifically says I am not insured if its not taxed, a friends states he is covered to drive to a booked MoT, I rang my company and they expressly forbade me to drive to the MoT I had booked for the Corsa I just sold.
It a minefield and I'm sure folk will all have their opinions!!!
i must admit i did worry about the "greyness" of the law, strictly speaking the car still had 3 weeks mot so it wasn't like i HAD to take it for test to tax it.... however i decided the story i would tell the five-o if i got pulled was i needed to tax it and couldn't find my mot but knew it was nearly out......i drove there and just obeyed the limits going back ways where possible and sitting in front of stuff so the five-o couldn't get behind me if i saw them..... i was told by the tester as long as the car is booked in for an mot and the five-o ring up and this is proven you're ok, as it goes i didn't get pulled and even stopped off on the way home for a cheeky one so all is good...
rik i drove diago with no mot ,no tax ,no insurance and oh no number plates down for his mot so man up
oh and if the self righteous brigade start shouting about it DO ONE
lol yeah i drove my bay the same when i got it no choice at the time, although it was insured cos i'm not a tool.
Erm, not tax or mot null and voids your insurance likewise no insurance null and voids your tax and mot.
yeah well i made it there and back and got one over on THE MAN so who's the daddy?
You're a bit of a rebel deep down innit Rik?

Thought i'd wash the Beetle today, hasn't been done since April.......
Can I add my bit into the pot of no mot no tax and no insurance.
I believe the mot garage has to be within a reasonable distance
What a reasonable distance is is upto C I guess
We reached a milestone tonight
