I got mine because you don't have to dry it (or your bedding) out after a wet weekend camping and the airbed doesn't leak. I prefer to compare mine to a ridge tent which makes it seem pretty luxurious.

When all's said and done B&B looks good value too. :)

  2. Or a teardrop for sleeping/cooking in and keep a bottle handy for nighttime pees!

  3. But you can tow it with your bay best of both worlds, more dry room and you get to keep the bay.:)

I have an auto which is crap mpg anyway leave alone dragging a van, plus the auto has a lower tow specification than manual I think.

Our T4 westie was low enough to go in multi storeys and also had a pop up roof. It had 2 swivel seats and seemed tons more spacious than the T2. Tho to be fair, now myself and sarah are a bit tubber achier a full width bed would be great.

We bought a folding caravan cos I was mad for it!! We went away the other week with friends as I don't think the two of us could put it up alone. It was fab to sit in it round the table thru the evening, and have room to move about with our friends.

You could buy it off me :)

I fancy a timberland, or something of that ilk.

    Or this.....

  6. Oh, I tried

  7. You need a small caravan Ricky, those massive motorhomes are impractical unless your doing a massive European road trip

Modern two or three year old van. Fast reliable economical. Transit, vivaro etc. Ply line and stretchy carpet, double bed and big fridge. Might still have change from the bay and you could use it as a daily driver.

  14. Had Wilma for over 8 years now, we retire in 2 more and with that we will take her on the last big jaunt for a humongous European tour - after that we will sell her and give someone else the fun and adventures we have enjoyed.

For why? We have even bigger and longer trips in mind and we will struggle - our future Van will have to be winterised, full heating, wind out Awning, double island bed , etc etc etc probably with a three litre Fiat Engine - I have my mind on. Roller Team Coach Built - so Rickyroo you're not alone in your thinking. Love our Bus but she and the J's can't spend a long time away!

  15. Rickyroo, you have to do what you can, when you can. We put off buying a Bay for years, waiting for the right time, waiting for the money and waiting to give up work. We're a lot smaller than you, Mrs C just gets to 5 ft and I'm, well quite a bit less than, 6 ft so we fit in better. We just had a 10 day road trip in our Bay (that we've owned quite a few years less than you've owned yours), with no awning, no TV, a 3/4 bed & the cooker inside. We're nearer 60 than 6 ft , so it wasn't easy (wee-wee comes to mind).....but it was fun! So if it's not fun anymore, find something that is. Life's too short. You'll always have the memories!

I haven't "given up" on the bay and to those who think I have sorry for the confusion, it just should be so much easier, we had a lovely weekend away but slightly spoiled by the struggle here and there....if we could just sort the space issue whilst sleeping maybe we would be ok.

  19. I have had caravans trailer tents etc I did'nt really get on with any of them ,the thought of just dumping them in the drive when I could have something more interesting parked up...

I used my T25 a lot every weekend going places exploring ,but only once a year for holidays ,the holiday time I have to compromise on not having my double bed and home comforts ,to get a bigger motorhome will make me less want to do the weekend things, more fuel ,bigger vehicle etc..

The T25 costs 120 euro a year to insure and 56 to mot every five years ,I feel that it been sat on the drive all winter is no big financial time bomb...
