Eriba's have really big beds for such a small caravan and go well with the bay!

 

why not rent one for a weekend or longer and see how you go?

Same prob for me so contemplating either gutting interior for a full width bed with a nice memory topper and or changing my Devon two bunks to a Westy type roof bed so missis can have one and me the other.

Have you thought about buying a roof tent.... Mdepends if you have a pop top already but I'm thinking Those Italian maggliana thingys or landrover types

 

ohhhh you mean a trailer tent...

 

You're in the right area of the country to take advantage of the canals. How about trading it in and getting a narrow boat?

 

i have a westy anyway don't want to sleep seperately and anyway access would then become harder - what we need is a bed you can slide out of from the side really.

 

I have one and they are brilliant, about 20 mins to put up or add another 40 to that for the awning too.

The main unit on my current one has two double beds permanently made, a seating area for four with a table that can be changed to another bed, two burners, grille, sink, 3 way fridge and loads of storage.



Pennine sterling, pathfinder and Pullman all have two beds and seating area permanently made up.

If it's a nice Westy you should swap it for my kit car caterham replica, enjoy the speed and sleep in some hotels

 

I loved my bus but I feel like a heavy weight has just been lifted from me, I am looking at T4's but unless you get a lwb they are just as small, Were going camping in three weeks with a few people so we could be in the 8 berth tent that's been in the shed for ages and never been used, I have been really eager this last few days looking a new vans but after seeing the ones I saw today I'm not rushing to buy another, maybe the right one will pop up, then I'll know either way

 

i suppose i need to see inside a lwb T4 really before writing them off totally - how do they stack against a bay for space? the standard ones looked as cramped if not worse to me.

It can be a bed but it's too claustrophobic for me. So we store the tables and chairs etc.

 

My mate has a LWB T5 he built a caravan style bed/seating area and a kitchen unit behind the front seats they now have a full 6ft and a bit bed and as wide as a standard double. LWB is defo worth it.

 

I think the latest tourneo raises the bar beyond your standard vans. Auto campers sell a fully modular set up so you put the bits in you want for your trip. Dont need the kitchen but want extra seats? Then slide out the kitchen module and leave it at home in the garage. It drives better than a mondeo and looks great. There are loads of different bed options. One will work for you. Very versatile vehicle.

The Wellhouse leisure set up is more dedicated but super convenient, beautifully engineered and ultra trendy. If i had the money, circa 45k, i would buy one of these two vans and sell my Viking and family wagon and probably use it as a daily driver.

I had a caravan before my viking and found it a huge pain, expensive and a bit embarrasing to own.

 

It really makes a difference, I can't find one I like apart from a LHD petrol, It's got a mint factory interior thou, Adam ( Joycee ) has just bought one

 

no more techenders , cheap parts , helpful mechs , tlb is on the rocks

 

My neighbours love their motor home, they did the same as most, tents, campervan, touring caravan and now their final resting place......miami autotrail motorhome, they love the comfort and double bed, they even have electric bikes on the back as their weary old legs cant pedal anymore.
