Very strange that the name is reported by US officials, not our own.

  5. Lot of fake news, trolls and bogus victim requests being circulated, sickening.

Awful day, senseless attack on young people, thoughts are with the families and with Manchester as a whole.

The suicide bomber who killed 22 people and injured dozens more at the Manchester Arena has been named as 22-year-old Salman Abedi, according to US officials.

Born in Manchester in 1994, the second youngest of four children his parents were Libyan refugees who came to the UK to escape the Gaddafi regime.

His parents were both born in Libya but appear to have emigrated to London before moving to the Fallowfield area of south Manchester where they have lived for at least ten years.

They had three sons in total and a daughter, who is now 18-years-old.

Abedi grew up in the Whalley Range area, just yards from the local girl's high school, which hit the headlines in 2015 when twins and grade A pupils, Zahra and Salma Halane, who were both aspiring medical students, left their homes and moved to Isil controlled Syria.

There were unconfirmed reports in Manchester that the whole family apart from the two elder sons recently returned to Libya.

his parents were Libyan refugees who came to the UK to escape the Gaddafi regime

    There's irony right there!

  9. No a deluded selfish *****

Been trying to get in touch with friends to see if their kids are ok. Colleague of a friend at hospital all night. Ten year old daughter. Brain injury, shrapnel, a fookin bolt for crying out loud. Not expected to survive.

    Sorry for swearing

That's awful to hear, what has that poor girl done to deserve that horrific injury. Nothing. We sincerely hope she pulls through mate, we really do.

PM says Critical Threat level's Operation Temperer will use up to 5,000 troops to take over armed police patrol duties under police command.
Looks like May is about to declare Martial Law.
She does not not want the public to be unduly alarmed, May says, but this is a proportionate and appropriate response. “We stand defiant ... the terrorists will never will, and we will prevail.”
The last three words sound awfully like the line from V For Vendetta.

    Another terrorist.
Just as I'm sure the IRA didn't represent the majority of Irish catholics, the Klu Klux Klan probably don't represent the majority of Christians, these terrorists who murder in the name of Islamic state will not represent the majority of Muslims.
Promoting hate is wrong. It cuts both ways though doesn't it?

Doesn't make sense. This idiot has caused untold damage to ordinary muslims who will now, I'm sure be the victims of hatred and physical recrimination from non-muslim extremists. With an election coming up, this will unfortunately put immigration and religious tolerance higher on the political agenda.

What is worying is that this lad was groomed into terrorism, most likely through the internet and there will be many more like him. The only solution is to stop the indoctrination of these people. Do that and you won't need troops on the street.

I dont care what you call it, my daughter is on a school trip to London tomorrow, anything that makes her safer is Ok by me

  20. Thats exactly the plan. Many ordinary Muslim people are enemys of IS by vurtue of the fact that they dont practice their faith as IS would have them do. They dont care if thers a backlash in fact thats what they want. And when it happens its more propoganda for them!
