  4. We can't make assumptions as to who or what has happened - but if this is some kind of terrorist attack, it appears that they're now targeting softer targets.

Which is a scary thought for any place holding a large sports event, concert or even big shopping centre. The police can't be everywhere.

Terrible news to wake up to.

  7. Piers Morgan is an irritating t@t, but he got it right this morning in his interview with Vince Cable.

No more hand-wringing, PC rhetoric, excuses and apologists - enough is enough.

This forum will have many people who lived through the IRA campaign and were directly or indirectly affected by it, the thought of having history repeat itself is unacceptable.

  8. Go on then, enlighten us as to how exactly one can prevent it.

Is there any doubt it was a terrorist attack? Man detonates bomb in crowded arena = terrorist attack in my books.

    RIP kids.

I dont have the mental energy to be logical this morning, just pure anger.

  12. First reports are often wrong. It certainly looks like a terrorist attack, but it'd be kinda nice if we all waited until the proper authorities have done their work - or at least until parents have been informed that their kids are dead - before leaping to conclusions.

    I'm not "leaping to conclusions".
I'm listening to what the authorities have said this morning.
No worries if you don't want to believe it, but to me, this sounds like an out and out terrorist attack.

Eh? I don't agree with internment or the "enough is enough" thing either, but I'm not going to be leaving. This is a pretty progressive thinking forum by many standards. Stay. Contribute. Please.

  18. In the context of those on terrorism watch lists, or perhaps those known to have returned from ISIS regions such as Syria.

The security services can't just continue to watch these people in the knowledge that they have, or are highly likely, to organise, arrange or conduct atrocities like this either here or overseas.

Or do we proceed on an acceptable risk basis, hoping that we don't get personally affected by it?

  19. leave it mate its in bad taste at the moment!
