Do it. I have fitted a few, and it does transform the driving experience. Great for parallel parking with one hand, while eating a pasty with the other.
I live in zone 3 London and I park on the street. My neighbours love getting too close. I wouldn't be able to go anywhere without litesteer.
wear/ play in the steering makes the effort considerably more, as does an incorrectly adjusted steering box, or one that's used up all of its adjustment. if your steering is very heavy suggest check its all as it should be first before you fork out on the power upgrade. pump up your front tyres helps lighten the steering too. i'm also tempted, but i've been getting everything sorted first to see how good i can make it before i decide if its really necessary. also i'm interested to know if the additional force through the box/ links etc would cause those to wear out faster vs. stock non-assisted steering? i know that the force required to move the tyre is the same irrespective of whether its my muscles doing the moving or an electric motor.. but, i don't try to move the steering from lock stop to lock stop when stationary ('cos i can't) where i suspect if you had power steering it might lead to some bad habits? like turning the wheel with one hand whilst eating a pasty with the other?
^this, especially pumping the tyres up. Litesteer looks good, but my concern would be that it's putting a pretty hefty load on a system that was never really designed to handle it.
I've had mine for years and many thousands of miles and it's still with the original steering box. I'm pretty sure the original system was built with enough strength for a hefty German bloke to use and LiteSteer doesn't necessarily increase the load, it just reduces the effort required.
Had litesteer for about 3 years and 20k miles. Had it fitted at their place by Neil? Been really pleased with it, makes parking so easy plus I have no problem at all with wander, I did before but put better tyres on and increased the pressure so can’t put it all down to Litesteer. Go for it , you won’t regret it.
The only cutting is on the outer tube. Not the actual column. I have several regulars that have been running power steering for years, with no noticeable sign of accelerated wear. Obviously its wise to fix any dodgy points on your steering first, but you are never going to make a bay easy to park in city side streets etc without power steering
How do they tweak the motor characteristics? The motor's presumably from something else that's on a CANBus?

The lite steer system is more expensive than some of the others available I was sceptical of the value versus the cost difference, the lite steer version is a much better and well made piece of kit, i would fit one , the ones I’ve seen are excellent, some others I’ve seen a dangerous junk
Probably. I don't really care to be honest. I'd rather be engaged in conversation than follow links that any of us can search using their search engine of choice. What does it matter if folk look at other stuff? That then surely promotes said conversation and you get better responses. It's me, I have an aversion to following links haha.
