    Hi All,

We're offering one of you the opportunity to have a new type of Propex heater fitted to your Bay here at JK HQ before they're even in production! :D

This is an all new style of heater which is fitted underneath the vehicle and will feed into the original VW front to rear heating ducts so will give you screen demisting and heating when you camp!

Ideally you need to be local, as we need the vehicle for around two days so we can develop mounting brackets, and metal 'Y' shaped connectors etc.

While you'd have to pay for the unit itself, the labour is completely free in exchange for the sample heater being fitted.

Please note we will need to remove and replace the centre belly panel, so no rusty buses please as we are not offering a full resto! ;)

Cost to customer would be a very subsidized £400.00.

We'd need to see the vehicle again a few weeks after fitting, just to check it all works as it should, before we go into production :)

Drop me a PM if this sounds like it would be of interest to you!
(I'm posting this up on prototype bay too, so it's first come first served)

Here's an admittedly slightly rubbish photo of the unit, just for your reference:

Perhaps a poor choice of words on my part there, haha
I could have said canary, that would have been much worse!

How about you sent me a unit and I'll design the brackets and any connections needed and tell you how I get on. This would save me a 4 hour round trip and give me an outside chance of owning one of these:)

Nice try, and not a terrible idea, but we've only got the one unit, and we need to make sure that it fits properly, make constant notes about how it fits, see what (if anything) needs tweaking or adjusting and take photos & notes for a full set of instructions

I believe we're also hoping to use the unit next door (where we have all our panels made) to create the brackets whilst we're fitting it so we can make sure they're absolutely spot on

It's also really important for us to see the unit again a few weeks later and have a chat with the owner about how they've been getting on with it and any suggestions or comments they've got

I'll make sure you're added to the list of future guinea pigs though :)
If there's something a bit less intensive that we need trialling in future we'll be in touch, but due to the whole gas safety thing we need to do this one ourselves

    Thanks for the reply.

I could reel off the qualifications and experience I have in fabrication, prototyping and gas engineering but I would be lying:D

I'll leave it to your experts and hope you pick me for something in the future:)

  10. Got to say if i didn't already have a propex i'd jump at this, £400 is a very very fair price for that whole thing fitted, nice one JK.

  12. This is extremely tempting... as my bus is now my daily which in winter im NOT oberly excited about... when would you need payment? X

  13. Hi Josh, I'd be very interested too, no problem getting the bus over to you either. As we are struggling for space in the bus what with trying to fit in chargers, amps, split chargers, inverters, amplification, speaker install etc this would be ideal for us. The bus is a rot free and now pretty much finished California bus and looks quite pretty in and out now our interior is almost finished, so might make a nice advert for you too! stick me on the list of possibles, and message me if you want my number for a chat about it. Gary.
