  1. Could well be interested in Dicky can't.

  2. When are you looking to do this?

I'm interested in this set-up if u want to drop me a PM or give me a call (you have my details already) :)

i'm not interested in the deal but would like to know how you'll overcome the difference in airflow from the heater to the original heating system? Are you planning to fit this to a van with no original heating? the air flow from the original heating pushed by the fan is quite fierce - far more so than my propex, i'd have thought that adding this into the existing pipework would make no difference while driving due to the amount of pipework the hot air has to travel (it would still go front and rear) or are you planning on having it fitted to a van with no original heat and blanking off from the long tube back to give it a fighting chance?

  4. This idea works really well, i have a truma E2400 mounted under my bus in a custom mounting box, and plumbed into the original heating system.

How are you intending to draw the air out of the bus and into the heater??

    Hi Everyone,

Just a quick post to say thanks for all your replies and feedback - unfortunately I've been off sick since I posted this so sorry for the delay in getting back to you all.

I'd assume we'd just take the payment when you dropped the bus off, but I'll double check when Mark gets in :)

We don't have any information about how much they'd sell for yet, but assuming the tests go well we'll be able to let you all know soon :)

We're looking at doing it as soon as possible, we've got the unit here at JK HQ so we're ready whenever

With regards to the actual mechanics of the unit and how it draws the air out of the bus and into the heater, I don't know myself, but I'll see if I can email the guys at Propex and find out from them :)

Thanks again, I'll reply to all the PMs now

Not very well at all, no - not sure why, but we still got plenty of offers via PM from people over there :)

  8. Have to say this is an awesome idea. I think guys on The Samba have been trying to come up with something similar for years. I love my normal propex!

  9. Hi, missed me out.

I've got a van, no rust, fully working VW original air ducts etc. You can have it for however long you need and I'm more than happy to report back as much as you need.

Sorry, I thought we were waiting on Dicky to have 'first dibs'.

Is this a new product for Propex or just a new one for JK?
Propex gave advertised a unit to mount outside vehicles and feed original ducting for a while.

  11. Hi I'm still here and offer still stands if timings good for you. Ok if you go elsewhere so no worries. Would like to get my propex out of the van though been a good servant and been in there about 18 years!

  12. Well been back a while and not heard owt @Josh_JK . You sorted?

  14. Could you not include a packet of Werther's Originals in future EB orders? Or a tube of Ralgex? That'll calm them down.

  15. Any news any one?

That's my fault - I've been off sick for a couple of weeks, it's my first day back today and I'm struggling to get back on top of everything

Hibiscrub has decided not to go ahead with the trial, and I believe @TheGazman is next in line, so I'll pass his details on to Mark and get him to give him a call to sort it all out :)

I've had some more details about the propex unit to help clarify things a bit.
While there is an existing 'underslung' propex heater, we're planning on using this new unit and the opportunity to fit it to a vehicle ourselves so that we can fabricate a system to hook it up to the original pre-existing ducting.
This will mean that, rather than just blowing hot air out from under the rock'n'roll bed, the new heater will also demist your windscreen etc as well, as the air is drawn from inside the van, heated in the under side mounted Propex heater and pushed back into the cab. The main idea is so that you will have windscreen demisting and be able to use all the original pipes the heat exchangers use (you can still keep the heat exchangers connected).
Also, the unit itself is fully waterproof, so water from road spray won't damage it (fairly important, that!)

Thanks, and sorry for the delay in replying, but I'm back on track now :)

Thanks Barney, feeling well enough at the moment

I am currently busless (I was driving around in the JK Bay, but we sold it to make room for our next project), so no chance of me sneaking in before anyone else!
Having said that, I am planning on driving my Beetle throughout the winter, so a Propex at some point isn't out of the question!

  19. Any updates available on this @Josh_JK ? looks like a good solution. Any idea when it's going to be available to purchase?

  20. I`d be more than willing to get one fitted - I only live 1/2 hour away :D

However, I baulk at shelling out £400 to `test` something I`ve not needed for the last 20 years so doubt I will now ...
