Jaywick - How did it get that bad?

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by top banana racing, Feb 8, 2015.

  1. I pity the poor souls who grow up in a place like this, make no mistake, but you have to think of it in relative terms....relative to where I grew up, it's a dump....where I grew up is a dump relative to Oxshott or Stoke D'abernon in Surrey....

inequality (education, opportunities and income) create slums and palaces.

  2. I wouldn't employ any of those scumbags.......I can guess just how good an employee they would be. They may not have any future but they are responsible for some of their problems.

  3. I was born down the road from there!
Been there many times when I was young but it really is Marmitetsville Central now.

  4. Seeing as nobody works they should atleast have time to tidy up....that is just lazy trash not social issues

  5. do any of them have a full set of teeth?

  10. Yep I thought the same.2400 take home a month and look at the Marmite hole they live in. Do they get their rent paid as well. No wonder they are in a Marmite state they can buy too much stuff.

People with low IQs used to have low paid jobs but made ends meet and had a sense of pride in themselves. Best part of 40k a year for doing nothing. Surely it's made up. It can't be true.

  12. It's true!
I was there on Saturday, bought my latest project from the geezer who lives opposite.
Technically what they're saying is they'd have to get a job paying £37k so that they'd get £2.5k after tax.

  13. when you add up the housing benefit, child benefit, income support, DLA etc then take into account they dont pay tax, you would need a £37k a year job to get the same.
    Why work?

  14. Nope.
    Dental treatment costs fag money.

  15. Actually to be honest that sound a bit like me dad!

  16. An "acquaintance" of mine over there came up with the idea of breeding snakes then tattooing them with rare markings!
He also has three Staffies. Three kids, two ex wives and a number of CCJ's.

  17. very considerate to put a cloth on the carpet so the guinea pigs don't get dirty feet :)

In all honesty, that could've been me if I'd taken a different route in life.
