I know a guy on here hates me for filling up his empty hole( in the dash), he has not got a good night sleep after i sent him a clock. :arrggh:
Disconnected mine, as it drains the batterry when parked up over t'winter, and we all know a slow trickle drain of a clock, can be the death knell of a good battery, if not regularly topped up with a charge.
Mine ticks like a woodpecker, but only at night, so I fitted a dash switch so that I can turn the thing off easily. Works for the winter storage thing too, though I usually have my batteries on charge on my bench.
I don't have an interior light so I have one of those battery powered led push lights in mine so I can apply my lipstick en route to a night out
I sold (almost gave away) the original clock to someone on here and fitted an 80mm rev counter from a MGB. Like one of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MGB-LATE-REV-COUNTER-/110937942496?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Other_Vehicle_Parts_Accessories_ET&hash=item19d46aa9e0&_uhb=1#ht_697wt_1271 It’s a better match to the speedo than a VDO gauge and I used one of the wires that goes from the defunct diagnostic plug to the dashboard to connect the coil to the rev counter.
alpha981 I did them myself on the 'puter then just stuck them on. It took a few goes before I got them on with no wrinkles.
