Hi folks, Probably a stupid question but on the dash my van has 3 dial instrument areas, the centre one being the speedo, the left one the fuel gauge and indicators etc, but the one to the right is just blank and seems to have some vent slots in it. I was thinking of trying to fit a clock or something useful in there, can anyone let me know what its intended use was and if anyone has the same and made use of it what have you done, pics are always great
we use the spare slot for a CHT gauge on Major the westy and a rev clock on Gusbus, both are perfect fit in the slot and look the part!
clock! mine kept me awake at night....tic tic tic tic tic tic.. vw only fitted stuff that was actualy needed in the earlyer days....but later on had to just to keep up. do you really need one just because there is space for one??
I quite often fit an 80mm rev counter... probably works out cheaper than trying to buy a 2nd hand factory clock
Thats defo to much work for me, I'm sure they would involve alot of electric work and me and electic work just don't mix lol
to be honest? the clock is noisy and when camping i pull the battery so the ticking doesn't annoy me, the cht guage just makes you worry.....the ammeter means nothing and the only good one is the volt meter but that just sits at 14-15 and then goes down to 12-13 with the lights on....
Thanks for the heads up, noisy clock not required, maybe look for a little digital one that will be silent then )
I couldnt fit my factory fitted clock in here so i fitted this . my clock fitted better here lol and it doesnt tic jaffa too ;D
