  1. I’m not exactly sure what you are getting at? Are you suggesting all the dead people are made up?

  2. If you'd explain that gibberish I might take notice .

  3. You definitely need an eye test. They're not your hairy palms, they are are your plumber's moobs.

  4. No definitely my hands. I know it’s not my chest cos that’s where I keep my open neck shirt and gold medallion.

  6. I think you know what I am getting at, to use a four letter word it's called bias. As regards deaths no, but there is still doubt over the reporting in the first wave re what was an actual Covid death and a large gap between the number of deaths initially forecast and actuals. Take a look at the various modelling re forecast deaths and there is a wide range. Look at the details on the graphs a bit closer be a bit inquisitive and don't just believe the hype.

  7. Isn’t the point that if they don’t do something then hospitals won’t cope and people will end up dying from a load of other stuff as well as covid?

Apparently there are three things the doctor has to put on a death certificate. Primary cause, secondary and other illnesses. The issue some people were having when claiming insurance funeral benefits etc was that any mention of covid 19 in any of those columns was being classed as a covid death even if the person was unfortunate enough to go into hospital with a known terminal illness and just happened to contract covid in hospital, the coroner or doctor had to put covid down as secondary. It was causing some issues regarding a claim in the first few months so I read.

Sorry should have made that clear. Some insurance companies exclude pandemics in the policy small print.

I thought that he was agreeing with you and asking the posters with a political bias not to chip in with comments.

  10. Thats what we're being told. Where I live the inflation rate is 77 per 100,000, the closest hospital according to the local rag says there were five Covid deaths there in October. Who is telling the truth.

  11. Yeah but 77 doubling every nine days gets you to a very high number in eight weeks if nothing is done.

I don’t know where you live but I bet your local hospital hasn’t got more than a dozen icu beds. If you fill them up with covid patients. Where do all the heart attacks and stroke and accident people go?

How can we ever really know the truth?

I think there are undeniable facts.

    This virus exists.
    We are spreading it.
Peoples dying has been speeded up because of it.
We need to all be responsible and take steps to avoid spreading it.

It never fails to amaze me how many facts can be quoted by posters of every political persuasion....I sometimes wonder if the actually have a Late Bay, obviously there's takes a lot less of their time than mine.

  14. I know you wont be convinced but it isn't doubling every nine days ... take a look at the governments own growth rate figures. I can't be sure of what has happened at all hospitals but one near here has added capacity by building a nightingale type facility in the grounds.

I have a late bay well actually its a cross over called the flying banana I drove it 60 miles today ...

    Lol your jesting surely....

How many drug companies are doing covid related research right now do you think?
All of them even the state owned military ones we can only dream of are doing it.
If and if glaxo or anyone crack a vaccine it won't make them any real long term cash. Why because it will be made at cost or very close to it.
It will be synthetic and within weeks every major government will have backwards engineered the process of how it's made and copy it, chemistry is simple when you know the ingredients and all of those ingredients can be made in any lab if you have the tools.
I've know 2 really bright chemist and both would fight tooth and nail for more funds to carry out the work BUT both of them have zero and I mean zero interest in wealthy trappings.
Pharmacy will have lost cash with all that stuff they make that never got used last time cancer drugs ext that never got used because people have not been diagnosed with the illness pills have an expriy date as do research finding on other projects.
Do you think government wants this head ache????? Really I could list 10 things the government would rather deal with right now than this cluster of mindbending trouble.
I frequent an other forum where all they are taking about is how to bend the rules come Friday .

The rules are simply this the only way this virus will carry on is if people are coming into contact more than they need to too include.
    Pubs
Going to the shops for no reason
And expressing "my" rights to be an individual and not caring about any one else.

I really hope you where jesting or trolling as the kids call it.
    Stay safe yall

  16. I know a fella I used to go to school with who, as a chemist, has the same vocational passion as the 2 you know.

But this isn't a lab coat wearer - this is the top table, the top of the tree and now steering government policy.

Would vocational drive extend to purchasing £5.6 million in shares ?(£5 million were sold before he took up the role, leaving just £600k....)

He would of been made to sell those in order to take the government roll I expect. I work for a company that I can buy shares in it's a huge tax fiddle it cuts my p60 figures as it's before tax and helps my pension his would I imagine be a similar deal but on a much larger scale.
Sage is more than just him the whole thing is peer reviews from other sources.
He may not be the right man for the job but it's just not one person .
Death from covid will be huge
Death related to the pandemic will sadly be on a scale that will take 10 years to count if not longer.
Covid will cost the pharmacy industry more in the long run than a short time increase in share price all the funding is going one way.
I'm not defending them at all they are just as bad as the petro chemical industry.
There is going to be huge inquiry into how this government handled covid it's not going to be happy reading at all.
    Good luck dude

  18. As nell says gifted share options are commonly used to tie management to the company for the next X years.
Basically you're awarded the right to buy the shares in, say, 3 years time at an attractive price. Sometimes you then have to keep them for as further number of years.
He probably got those instead of a higher salary and bonuses.
