    8 years ago he paid 79,000 for it ,he had been in the area 2 months so seen loads of properties ,he has spent 48,000 fixing the roof double gazing etc all done by himself ,the estate agent valued it at 84,000 :eek:..;

    Because he has done it himself if he sells it for 100,000 he will have to pay 40 per cent capital gains tax on the 21,000...

    My advise , buy one that some Englishman has sweat blood and tears on already ...:hattip:

  2. bearing in mind the euro rate which i think wasnt that good at the time ( cos i was looking) its prob bowt same money in pounds ish .

    There is a hell of lot of britts ,me included that pour money in these wrecks and get zero return...:hattip:
     
  5. look on the bright side ive prob spent a similar amount for hols in the sun , luckily i dont drink that much these days or id be outa pocket :D:thumbsup:

    We are driven by panic and worry as our masters like it. The Frenched chopped the barstewards heads off to put an end to that to an extent. Vive la Frenchies.

  10. i wanted to buy two farms / houses when timeswere better in early eighteeez i think they were 7 k ish each , my partner didnt , but then again i didnt look like old mc donald in them days :D

  13. tell me bowt it , my business plan at time was to run hol place for over forties , providing cooking and painting as an attraction that would add to that , it looked good n still does , my old office landlords son does painting hols in france n does ver well (oh yeh this i painting real stuff nude ladys n moaneez :D) please note if you /anyone uses this idea i shall be looking for free holidays food n drinkeez as a ...........................................................advice fee :D. You two have lovely places but like you say your peasants , that said its better than being a peasant over here like me :(. Oh ta be young again or in touch with him up their in others :D. Bring on global warming :cool: we might need boats though :thinking:

  14. Was more thinking of a French techenders ,but rather ogle/paint nudes by the pool...:D:hattip:

    btw me friends friend has a job at a campsite near us ,him and wife work 3 hours a day and get camping for free.....:D

    I just googled the campsite and peak season it is 30 euros a night??????

    I need a drink...:D

    Then TBH, being already relocated en France, if your friend's friend can't find a niche to slot into from the camp site, it's not going to happen is it?
     
  18. Maybe a good thing to explore options ,thing is the owners must get on with them ,just e mails so far ,you never know what is round the corner ,having a safety net is probably why they are so brave or stupid...;)

  20. I had friend come to stay for a couple of days when he broke up with his girl .3 months of him not changing the bed was one of the reasons he had to go
