They sound a bit like some if the Brits who were in Spain. They move over, no cash, no idea of how/where to work. Some succeed but most end up being bit pikey, drinking a lot, owing money, disappearing back to the uk!

  2. tbh a small village does not care ,of course it is exciting someone working on it and new people ,but the ruin's have been like that for years...

When we moved in nothing changed much...

The making a profit is the hard bit...;)

That was me as well and 99% of non retired brits

But you must be a grafter @lost-en-france :). We knew folk who came out and were "looking" for work, mainly in a bar. If I needed a hand sometimes I would offer a days paid work but more often than not it wasn't taken up.

I managed to get work with a Spanish plumber initially. I'd also done a load of flyers and door to door delivered them.

    Tuesday wildchild I'm a circle!

3 bedroom house, shop and very large barn
    €38,000
    Limoges, France
    Delightful house including;
    *3 bedrooms
    *2 bathrooms
    *Lounge
    *Dining room
*Very large loft (You could easily make a further 2 bedrooms!)
    *Shop
    *Large barn
    *Small garden
This fantastic property is situated between Chénérailles and Ahun in the delightful unspoiled department of "La Creuse" - 23. The house itself has been completely rewired by a professional artisan (A full receipt of the work can be shown). This property has great potential and opportunity as the shop could be opened creating an income and the house itself would make a lovely b&b creating a further income. The property is partly doubled glazed and is freehold. I am only asking for €38,000. For more information or any questions please contact me through email; angiesfabricart@hotmail.co.uk

  18. You do realise because it is not you perminaunt residence you will have to pay 40% cgt ,plus there is some sort of environmental tax...

That is a big chunk out of any profits ,there is about 20 empty houses in my village ,there is a good reason for that...;)

Most of my clients houses sell back to the English ,then they plough even more money in them....:hattip:
