My dad used to padlock half of a 8 inch set of scissors to his steering wheel, he was in the knitwear trade so they were also sharp. He also had one of the old snap out radios, till they broke in the house one day and stole it. That's forest fields for you!!!
We now have a dog which responds effectively to 'get his balls' Baseball bat always on standby Lots of SAS neighbours and local 'black hawk' nighttime activity round here.
It's not insured to sit about at my place. But it is locked away in a unit and the site is secured and has CCTV and alarms. If you think someone will pinch it, better get it insured. If you wonder why, try getting fully comp Motor trade insurance for Classic LHD imported vehicles. You'd better be sitting down when the quotes come in.
It's insured anyway. I just meant that "I" worry less as you're secure and Paul is 50 miles from civilisation.
That's what I've been thinking about, yes got a steering wheel lock but the poor chap in London this week suspect his was nicked with a low loader, as alot of recent reports seem. I suppose turning the steering full lock would make it Rolling more difficult, it's just in the back of my mind on hols, you park up go to the beach for the day and like most would rather go off the beaten track so it's quieter,( no not dogging), suppose if they want they will have a go either way
Don't ever trust anyone's else's insurance to cover anything I learnt that the hard way, I was 18 had spent many thousand on what was basically a boy racer fiesta a friend had a body shop and was working with me in the evenings on it as a bit of a side project, my insurance was transferred to another car, now i thought no insurance needed, we even had the the engine out of it no one was going to steal it. The bodywork was finished, Astra mk4 headlights lots of modifications, custom bumpers etc Then this happened.... The body shop was torched police didn't care, everything was lost, and I lost every penny
I'm going to get one of these, which one do you think I should get? http://www.bulldogsecure.com/view/bulldog-qd44-wheel-clamp/94 or http://www.bulldogsecure.com/view/bulldog-cc100-autoclamp/89
I have one of these http://www.bulldogsecure.com/view/bulldog-cc100-autoclamp/89 it does the job, although due to the bus wheels size the span is probably at the maximum I would want to use it at, which makes it slightly easier to kick off one side.
Read somewhere that these are relatively easy to remove if you let the air out of the tyre....so went for this one instead: http://www.bulldogsecure.com/view/bulldog-em500ss-euroclamp/5
