I agree - apart from the missed Covid race - that was in 2020. That should have been a draw - moral victory for Lewis - black mark to the Mercedes strategists - I was yelling at them - box for new tyres - but they couldn't hear . Anyway - title now on loan to Red Bull for a year - Lewis to claim it back in 2022
Not really. The best driver won the drivers championship and the best constructor won the constructors championship. Toto certainly didn’t.
Lol! Poor Max….. one day he will actually realise he didn’t win. It seems the tide has turned and people want racing!!! Bit of a joke that eh considering there was an entire race behind the safety car. Max is a balls out win at all cost racer. If that’s the trend then his days are numbered and someone even more reckless will be along shortly. As for the race… don’t blame max at all and do feel for Lewis. Great sportsmanship both in not nudging max before the restart when he was along side and then for he demeanour. I can’t begin to believe how gutted he must have been! Wrong result I think!
I think this summed it up perfectly. Max is an absolutely fantastic driver who has had an incredible season and I have nothing but huge respect for him, but what just happened is absolutely unacceptable. I cannot believe what we’ve just seen.
Yes you could. I laughed at the commentators saying the same, covering the arse of their sport. I refer you back a page of whatever to where I predicted the stewards would decide it and there would be a lot of controversy, because like footy, that's all this sport has nowadays.
Absolutely. If they had red flagged they could have restarted and had a racing finish of more than one lap, AND Lewis would have had a chance to put fresh tyres on too. That would have been a proper fair ending
So that was last year , sorry - my bad but with lockdown and Covid it seems to be just one lonnnggg season ...
No doubt In my mind that Hamilton was the better driver today. He was up against 2 cars that had nothing to lose by colliding with him or running him off the track. He had not only to be fastest on track but also to avoid collisions and tip toe around the red bulls which he did.Perez may have done a great job at spoiling but come on. That’s not actually racing is it unless your a wacky races fan. Max couldn’t catch Lewis could he! Strange sport where if your leading your actually at a disadvantage and at the end your race time is less than that of the winner! Looks like the arguments still going on!
Next year they will introduce a new rule: The stewards decision is final. Then like footy the fans can argue all they like but even when it's obvious a travesty has unfolded - er, no - stewards decision is final. Controversy = interest = £££$$$s.
One thing that has become apparent over the season is that Lewis is pretty crap at defending. I guess he's never really been tested previously but Max seems to just drive past him whenever he feels like it - almost like Lewis gets out of the way - he keeps leaving him room to dive inside. If he's going to have any hope next year he's going to have to be a lot more aggressive and I don't think he wants it that much. He had a pretty bad crash early this year or maybe it was last year and he hasn't looked so keen since - he's got a lot more going on in his life unlike Max. Maybe he'll even retire and let the youngsters risk their lives. We all loose our nerve for dangerous stuff eventually. Commentators describe him as fair and that's true, but I believe it's partly because he's also not 100% committed. Wash my mouth out but Max just does not give a hoot for danger to himself or anyone else and in this day and age, that's the winning mentality.
