I think 2014 will be a development year for Porsche followed by a full tilt challenge in 2015.

It'll be sad day for F1 if he leaves completely.

Think it'll be great to see him at Williams or a backmarker to get them up the grid - bit like he did for Honda before they pulled out.

Formula One racing’s governing body, the FIA, has published a revised calendar for the 2014 world championship following a meeting of its World Motor Sport Council in Paris on Wednesday.

The season will kick off in Australia on March 16 and conclude in Abu Dhabi on November 23. The two new races - in Austria and Russia - will be held on June 22 and October 12 respectively.

The three Grands Prix listed as provisional on the original 2014 schedule - America (New Jersey), Korea and Mexico - do not feature on the revised calendar. New Jersey organisers have said they hope the race will feature in 2015.

    The 2014 calendar in full:

    16/03 Australia
    30/03 Malaysia
    06/04 Bahrain
    20/04 China
    11/05 Spain
    25/05 Monaco
    08/06 Canada
    22/06 Austria
    06/07 Great Britain
    20/07 Germany
    27/07 Hungary
    24/08 Belgium
    07/09 Italy
    21/09 Singapore
    05/10 Japan
    12/10 Russia
    02/11 United States
    09/11 Brazil
    23/11 Abu Dhabi

  5. Just watched the highlights of rally GB. Kubica crashed out on the first and second days. He doesn't seem to have much luck in a rally car!!

  6. rally GB died when they restricted it to Wales......:(

Agreed though not sure if the double points will help.

Double drivers’ and constructors’ points will be awarded at the final race of the Formula One season in order to maximise focus on the Championship until the end of the campaign.

It still wouldn't have helped Alonso this year...

  9. So poxy Abu Dhabi is worth Spa and Suzuka or Monza and Silverstone combinedo_O

    mad innit?

  11. Sure is stupid - 4th place at Abu Dhabi is now worth 24 points, only 1 less than a win anywhere else!

Not sure it's about the worth of the track... although Abu Dhabi is a bit dull... It's more about keeping the teams on it right to the end. I think all but two places were decided before Brazil this year but 36 points (excluding Vettel) would have shaken up 2nd to 5th (?) on the last day. Imagine cars filled to the brim, engine modes set to full and racing for that extra £10m!!

    Good move I think.

Not so sure about the 5 sec penalties because it's a bit less immediate and probably not as dramatic as a drive through.

Don't see the point in the driver number shenanigans either!

I'd imagine the numbers thing is so they can merchandise better like beckham did with 7/23 on his clothing....

I see VW has denied that any of their brands will be entering in 2015.
Why would they? They have AUDI & Porsche in LMP1 & Lamborghini didn't exactly cover themselves in glory at their last foray into F1
