I’m getting the problems with the linkage disconnected and the van just idling, I can’t seem to bring down the flow on the number 3 cylinder
All I can think think of is that the venturi might be different or not properly insitu. Something is letting more air in.
Twisted throttle shaft? Wear where the throttle plate sits when closed? Take the carburettor off and look hard at the butterfly and how it sits when in the closed position. See if you can slip different feeler gauges between the throttle plate and the carburettor body at the furthest points from the spindle. Try both carburettor bores, they should be exactly the same. Try it either when the throttle is fully closed or if you wind the endstop screw in a little until you can get a feeler gauge into one of the gaps. If its different, somebody may have twisted it.
