the ongoing stats aren’t as important as the overall stats, I doubt any country is going to be clear of covid, daily tallies are like looking are your daily bank interest, not much be see, but check after an extended period abs you have a much better idea of what’s happening, I suspect large areas of Africa don’t have a computer system to truly report the effects there
Had the Astra Zeneca jab last Saturday - fitful sleep that night and muscles/joints ached on Sunday - woke up bathed in sweat Monday morning - But now feel OK .
I worry that as the virus mutates that vaccines wont work. Natural immunity from having had another form of the virus doesn't work. each time there's a trough in the infection rates governments will open us back up to travel and its an endless cycle of peaks and troughs with variants of the virus picking us off and us trying to keep pace. Its concerning that the conspiracists seem to be focussing on there not being a virus. likely there in for a surprise. People are still more concerned about getting back to normal and getting a haircut, going on holiday etc. But normal is dead. Just surviving might be your best outcome!
And no starting date to controlled quarantine of incoming travellers until at least Feb 15th......................

Normal is not dead, just on hold, if that were the case we would never have recovered from the Spanish flue that killed twice as many in the Uk as Covid so far, they had no Vaccine back than, it dissapeared through herd immunity in the end.Pandemics have come and gone throughout history.
I know , pathetic isn't it ?? Same has happened every time the government have made a decision on arrivals from abroad - usually weeks before implementation. Most idiotic was when they announced everyone leaving the planes or ferries would be given a simple temperature test . Great idea and easy enough to get off the ground, a few protected workers with digital thermometers job done ? Nope , it was coming into effect in 3 weeks time.... One thing I noticed is that the average age people die in the UK has gone from 50 th 81 in a hundred years, the average age of death in the uk from Covid is 82, I think we are victims of our own advancement in medicine and care. When people bang on about how badly we have done against some poorer countries you should have a look at the life expectancy in these countries and find that in some its high 50s to low 60s, not so many people with health issues as they die and obesity is not such a thing.
