  1. I've spent most of Sian's university money on a DOKA.

  2. That's why when I retired I bought the mgb and later my van. Why leave your money to others unless you get their help and support.

A neighbour died last year and the lady's son who never came to see her or help her expressed his disappointment his mum left him nothing, she had spent all her money, good on her. He didn't want any of her possessions or family stuff so put it all in a skip.

Another old lady departed the year before, she did nothing in her retirement, except moan, and her son and daughter never visited much, she left them a house and money, which they didn't deserve.

I don't understand the inheritance thing. Kids get brought up and helped out financially on the way, so they have had their inheritance. What's left is to be enjoyed during retirement why we still can.

  5. Sian is dropping out and becoming our worst nightmare. Retail therapy of the highest order. Now where is that website for a canvas tunnel?

Oh no :( hopefully she will pull through and all will come good!

  7. Bloody hell, puts a lot into perspective this does.
Having been through later teen years with Mrs TBR's two girls (now 25 & 22) and with my two now 13 & 15 we had (what now appears to be) relatively little hassle, I really feel for some of you guys.
May stop moaning QUITE so much about unmade beds, plates not in dishwashers and flat batteries on the ipad (but WHY!!! can't they plug it in?).

  8. We hope so too but...... She's totally changed since you first met her. My pride and joy to someone I'm embarrassed to be associated with. Could be worse.

  9. Oh no it couldn't.

I read through this thread earlier thinking how lucky I was to have a beautiful trouble free 9 year old daughter...

I'm sat here now having just listened to a hum dinger of a row between her and her mum about the state of the daughters bedroom , 3 black bags of daughters prized possessions being taken to the tip with me just sat here thinking about what the next 10 years are going to be like - jeez!

  15. Just wait till those hormones get going. You lucky man :)
