i missed a minter on ebay last week and it never sold , so i emailed the seller asking for a price , he has come back with £60 posted .

i know this isn't a lot and i am ready to contact him and say yes but -

Its cramped at times in the westy , are they any good , do they get the use or is it just another extra bit of weight in the van i could do without .

Does anyone have any thoughts or experience of them ? .

i need to let him know today :-.

  2. i would not bother - but thats me

  3. I thought of getting one of these. But let's be honest, it would just get in the way all the time and probably slide about everytime you went round a corner. Unless it was tied down to something. Then it would get in the way all the time. After a while I thought, 'nah, sod it, I'll go without'.

Are you on about the steel frame based ones or the ones with the box as a base?

The steel ones sit in the walkway between the cooker and sink unit on mine - and there is a strap there to stop em sliding about. You can step over them to get from cab to the back area, but they do block the lower cupboard and water tank cupboard.

Handy for extra seating outside and inside, also as a leg up to get into the roof bunk via the cooker - also good as a step up for filling the roofrack (on solid ground.

£60 is cheap if its original and nice - I paid £40 for a repro one

Can't comment on the box ones though, or on non continental westy layouts.

  7. can be a pain as its quite big ..... but @£60 its a steel

  8. A firm stool that floats is a good indicator of a healthy fibre rich diet

  11. Bargain, do it! :D Will always sell again if you don't. Have seen them go for much more than that.

Get it and use it. Even in the awning the thick foam makes a welcome break from a camping chair. There'll always be a kid sat on it. ;)

The stools are nice. Quite light and handy to have. However I don't have one. I use a bean bag or the stools in my fold up table. I think something as useless as a stool in the walk through would get on my nerves. If it was a box I could live with that as it has a use.

  15. Id be happier with a box with a cushion on the top than a westfalia stool

I always try and choose camping equipment that fulfills more than one roll and a box lined with insulation could act as a coolbox aswell as performing the job of a seat or a step
