Brexit outcomes so far.

  1. Not completely there will continue to be the raising of the age for the state pension. the only people who will be able to retire at 65 will be those who have made their own provision.

  2. It's going to take a while though. In the meantime, especially if the working population falls with lower immigration, taxes will keep on going up.

  3. Perhaps it will dawn on people one day that one day we need to spend more of their money on services as opposed to stuff they don't really need and accept a slightly lower standard of living. I don't have a problem with that but many middle class people do. Anyway bit off on a tangent. Getting ready for Question Time in a minute, should be interesting just for the remainers they have invited the UKIP MP Cardwell along.

I listened for a few minutes but in a direct answer to someone who said all their mates, chippies, brickies, plumbers etc voted out because their earnings were being driven down, a squeeling labour shadow minister claimed to understand people's "worries" and "concerns", like this was something that might happen. She went on to squeak that it was all ok because labour would support the minimum wage. Doh! I wanted to punch the ignorant idiot, and this is one of Corbyn's lot!

  5. Didn't she say that Labour would have driven the minimum wage up further without reducing immigration? Wouldn't that have just further increased the draw for people to travel here to work and cost business more?

Out of the bunch on QT last night Thornberry was the most annoying, don't understand why she is with Corbyn perhaps no one else would have her.

  6. Yes its all the pensioners fault again.
P.S. What was the bribe as I think I may have missed it? Too busy watching quantitative easing eroding the savings I live on, savings built up through a long working life and careful money management.

Chilcot report next week. That should wipe out a few who could have been labour leader candidates.

Thornberry , a real woman of the people, a barrister who made all her money ambulance chasing and an expert on the human rights act, resigned cos of her hate of working class van men, really in touch.

Whats the feeling in France with rgard to this, do they even know or care?

  14. I employ a French guy under French regulations. For a 'middle class' salary, the total cost to the company is about 40% more for the French guy to achieve the same take home as someone on PAYE here. This goes on their extra services as well as an earnings related pension (although I suspect this is another unfunded Ponzi scheme as with Government pensions here) and unemployment protection. He is surprised that people here in relatively ordinary jobs drive brand new Audis, have the latest iPhone and go on fancy expensive holidays. Is Brexit going to change that mentality? I think that it is really ingrained in our society that we must look like we are well off, even if we are stuggling to stay affloat from month to month and have no savings / pension.

  15. At the start of this vote, my French employee (who is a good friend and married to an English woman) simply stated that it is obvious that we would vote out as the Brits don't see themselves as part of Europe. He thought the result was clear from day 1!

  16. Im always amazed by that to. My salary isn't fantastic but also not shabby and I don't have or do that. I think its cos the whole country is run on tick! (ie borrow today and worry about it tomorrow, it seems to be the nature of consumerism in the UK)

  17. Not realy , the locals think the England team is the big news...

Both our children are becoming French citizens ,so they will be ok...

Thanks for the link, I've just read that, and other posts by him. He was spot on about Mark Carney talking down the pound for our punishment. That'll teach us not to disobey the elite.

  19. The pound had stabilised nicely, so Carney comes along and says rates may be cut, then Osborne says the economy is in shock and it starts drifting downwards again. How the **** do they know that the economy is in shock already based on no figures, nothing! Muppets.

  20. I said it was important not to talk it down and the people paid to act in our best interests do the opposite.
