I think it is a civil war being fought within political parties and by keyboard warriors! The first war mainly fought on the internet!!
i,d say 80% of politicians have never had a proper job and if they had to they would be working in indian call centres, calling themselves david or micheal and ringing me up to tell me my computor was bust !!!!
I'd say that from now on, no slightly sane Brit would even contemplate entering Eurovision for the next 20 years. So we wouldnt have to put up with that twaddle again for a bit. Result.
We pay for that Eurovision and none of them let us win the vote. Can we have a petition? I wasn't going to bother reading this thread of doom and misery, but here you go: Nevermind the Brexit, UK will emerge with a good trade deal http://www.cnbc.com/2016/06/27/nevermind-the-brexit-uk-will-emerge-with-a-good-trade-deal.html
We will get a trade deal, and it's certain that whichever tory is in charge (no change there then) will claim that it's a good deal. What we won't get is to be part of the single market and have immigration control. We might get tariff free access to the single market for selling goods, but that will mean customs barriers and a whole heap of paperwork if we want to do projects in other EU countries As with most businesses, I'm looking for the opportunities here and for those of us prepared to deal with the paperwork and hassle, we'll have a more protected market with fewer competitors and higher prices.
Given the amount the UK has historically spent on defence (when compared to other EU countries) then I envisage we will have support from the other side of the Atlantic. My view is they are starting to get nervous of the bear and this will be a driving factor in maintaining the UK-USA relationship.
Nearly right about Ford. Transit has gone to Turkey (Asian side I believe), with engines still made in Dagenham.
Trade is a two way street. The EU countries need us to continue to buy their goods and services. Germany earns more income from trading with us than it does with China, they lose money trading with China at present. All this bluster from Merkel is just that, bluster. Typical from the Germans. The other member countries would not want to lose income and may well put pressure on the big boys like Germany to cool it and stop raising the temperature. We are a great trading nation and perfectly capable of being firm and negotiating new terms. Merkel doesn't seem able to change her attitude and insists we could only get a new trade agreement if we have free movement of workers. Germany is not a happy country and has its own political turmoil and mass immigration issues caused by Merkel's decisions. The EU is stuck in a bad groove and needs to change attitude and policies and their inflexible rules. Which countries in the EU are actually doing well? My view is we will get the deal we want in the end but we will probably have to put up with the bluster and threats on the way.
You dont like them Germans do you? merkel sounds quite conciliatory by comparison to some of the comments coming from the Eurocrats!
