Nice one Owen - always fancied one - very nearly bought a convertible for £50 many years ago. This place has been going for years and has an extensive catalogue.

My first car was a morris minor, dropped a 1275 mg engine in it. Loved that car.

    I sprayed it brown....

  7. Make sure that the 'King Pin' bolts and bushes have been replaced, very common sight in Nigeria, in my youth, to see the taxi's driving with about 20 degrees camber one day and sitting with the wheel broken off the next.

  8. My Aunt had one, got hit by a bus in Wigan, only damage was a dented rear wing and a knackerd tyre from the wing rubbing on it afterwards. You are gonna fit a Fiat twin cam aren't you? Or like an ex girlfriends big brother with an ex post office Moggy van, an MG Midget block.

  9. East Sussex Morris Minors and Charles Wares may be helpful. I had an Almond Green 1965 traveller as my first car. Wonderful, but the body rotted very fast.

  10. Looking at the pics, I would say you chose well. Its in great condition.

  11. I saw a 1953 split screen minor for sale on ebay, it was on the Isle of Wight. I should have gone for it.

  14. I reckon a Rover V8 would fit in there nicely.

Morris Minors always remind me of tweed knickers.

  19. Good advice about the king pins, they used to go suddenly as they wear their threads swivelling back and forth, especially if not greased often. Check out all the greasing points.

Its going to be a great project to finish and hopefully in time to take it to the shows next year. I think a red mohair hood would be a good choice.
