  2. You need to use olive oil to soften it for a few days before the procedure. But don’t over do it. If it gets gummy, it can clog the vacuum

  3. My bloke seemed to do ok with his mini-Karcher. My left ear, you couldn't actually see my eardrum. £80 for both lug-holes. Worth looking for a local specialist. Hearing was transformed

Thanks all.My wife bought me some Otex Express(?).
Guess it’s like Optrex, but for your ears.
I’ll try some after me tea,as I have to keep my head at an angle to keep it in.
    (Otex and me tea).
I did used to get them syringed every year, due to using loud machinery a lot.
But our Health Centre dosnt do it now.
Someone suggested Hydrogen Peroxide. Is that even safe?
    Thats hair bleach,ain’t it?

  5. Hydrogen peroxide just fizzes, and Otex is useless if you're really bunged up. Get 'em hoovered!

    Ok,I shall see someone.

  8. Worth having a look for local specialists. Amusingly, my ear guy was an ex-Major in the British Army. It's his kind of retirement job. "Get in the chair! Sit up straight! Don't move!" I resisted the temptation to salute him when he'd done.

There’s a woman the other side of town, which apparently specialises in this sort of thing. She says she can come around at 5.00pm later. £35 an ear, or £50 for both. See what she says.

  12. I know everyone says don't use cotton buds... but I always have and get through a box every month or so. I just feel satisfied pulling one out and seeing it covered in slimy yellow wax :D

That said, DON'T USE COTTON BUDS!

  14. Really, don't do that. You'll shove everything further down your (quite narrow) ear canal.
