I’d say leave them off. They usually cover horrors underneath and trap muck and rot. Chop ‘em off and just fit the big removable one.
I wouldn't weld them on but I think they're worth doing with bolts and rivnuts as long as you maintain any drainage holes?
Mebbe. They’re sill-killers if you can’t take them off to check. Mine wrecked my sills and part of the frame over the years.
Cheers, I don't have that code or anything on my translated code readout that talks about pans, so I presume no pan? I feel slightly bereft
Are they actually fitted under the van? Must've been an M-code, as they welded the outers on at the factory.
Don't know! A picture of the fixing points for the central one under the van would help to see if there was ever one there, pretty please
Here's a not-very-good pic. You can see some of the mounting bolts along the chassis rail, and a row of them at the back. More of the same at the front.
Tut...you didn't say thaaaat...... 3 holes, no captive nuts, one in the centre on open beam, one each end in box section towards each end, more like drainage holes.
Same here. A £4600 bill for having belly pans, rebuilding sills and centre chassis rails. Because I wanted it done NOW ! or I will cwy. Instead the next daily I buy will have to be £4600 cheaper. A TE discussion circled around making them ventilated, drained splash/dirt covers out of fibreglass, bolted into rivnuts..
Should be four down each side, four at the back, two at the front, all with captive nuts welded to the chassis members. You're hole-less!
Mines hole-less aswell I’m going to have to drill and use rivnuts I would have rather have drilled and welded captive nuts in. But when I painted and under sealed the van I didn’t have or know I was going to fit the belly pan and I can’t be doing with scraping back and cleaning up to weld nuts in with the possibility of setting alight nearby under seal.
