  1. This weekend Me and Em covered our doorcards heres the progress!
I came to the decision that seeing as though Archie came with a couple of door cards we may aswell try and cover them on the cheap and that we did,
we started off with 2mm insulation foam
    [IMG]
early last week I sourced some vinyl which we liked and covered the foam, basket weave was our pattern of choice
    [IMG]
Billy the jumper sporting pooch approved of our work:thumbsup:
we then covered the backs with thermal wrap for a bit of extra warmth
    [IMG]
also added the air vent cover but forgot tho take a pic:rolleyes:
but overall really chuffed all for under 30 notes:) :chewie:

  2. Had a few hours on Archie this afternoon, took out the left rear window as the seal was shot and found this!
slung a plate in and welded it in
    [IMG]
filled other little holes along the sill edge.
so not a great deal done but it was a awkward job that needed doing, gonna have to order a seal now aswell yey..

  3. Those door cards look good dude its nice to see somthing a little different

  4. Never liked following the crowd man! really pleased how they came out, even if they do us for a couple of years it will be worth it:) dont know weather to do the rear cards the same or in a different pattern  choices choices...

  5. woohoo! great work. keep the pics coming :D its motivating me to crack on with mine.

  6. Had a full day sanding and filling on saturday, Emma go on with undersealind while I messed about on the outside of the van
    [IMG]
    started playing with the boot
    [IMG]
    took the bumper off
    [IMG]
sanded down some bumpy bits and found this
    [IMG]
welded in a new plate either side
    [IMG]
removed the bumper irons and filled it
    [IMG]
bit more done on the right side
    [IMG]
not a bad day few more days of sanding and filling and he will be ready for paint!

  7. Had a couple of hours on one of Archies door today welded fibreglassed and filled a typical rotting corrner and found that the window trim was beyond repair so got one on order! more money!
N0 pics as my phone died, ill bang some up next time:rolleyes:

99% finished underneath bit more seam sealing to do then its getting blathered in stone chip and underseal which im looking forward to as it will mean i dont have to go under there for a while fingers crossed haha

  11. Looking good - a new lick of paint will look wow.

Liking the look for your door cards as well.

  12. Put the other cab door on and sliding door to make sure everything lines up as it should before I went any further ( a bit late admittedly) but was plesantly suprised :)

cab door and sliding door shut
    [IMG]
    rear arch is perfect
    [IMG]
sliding door need to shut a little more but I dont seem to have enough movement on the bump stop, can you elongate the holes or is it a bit dodgy? help appreciated:)

  13. Fitted the door cards on friday afternoon, look pretty cool!

While I was there tried on the sliding door panel needeed a bit cutting out but not bad
    [IMG]
Got the tailgate and rear cab seat panel covered
    [IMG]
Working on the sliding door panel
    [IMG]
    sliding door before and after
    [IMG]
I've insulated the backs of each panel, might be a bit OTT as im insulating the van walls aswell but never mind:rolleyes:
so just one edge to stick down on the rear arch panel and the panel opposite the sliding door to cover but i ran out of adhesive annoyingly!:(
    [IMG]
should be able to finish them off tomorrow evening :chewie:

  14. Looking good - you in the paint shop yet? It will soon come together after that.

so instead of getting in the way I went home and left them to it!
Today on my way home popped in to see what had been going on ... check him ouuuuuutttttt!:chewie:
few finishing off bits they need to do where some tape has stripped a bit of paint of inside the door on the arch but well shuffed over all!
had a go at fitting my first window so fitted the seal
    [IMG]
and popped it in! went in like a dream!
The same can not be said for the second and third which were right awkward buggers!
so another 3 to do including the windscreen:eek: then get the new door chromes fitted and glass back in!
bumpers should be painted this week so will get them fitted aswell :) wooooop:chewie:
