  1. Full day on Archie today on my mission to get him MOT ready by next week!

Had a couple of hours messing with the wipers and managed to fix them!
found that when I pushed the motor onto the metal of the van the wipers started working, investigated further into it and found the bolt that secures the crank arm to the body of the van was hanging out, managed to get it tightened back into position (which was a nightmare) turned the switch and of they went!

Second job was to make and fit a battery clamp and this is what I came up with
    [IMG]
I welded two lugs on the underside which sit into the groves on the battey base and bobs your uncle steady as a rock!
Next job was to get the seats and seatbelts back in, had to strip one of the seatbelts to get it working properly first then stuck it in
    [IMG]
just waiting on the underseat carpets which will be fitted once hes through his MOT
Then kick panels and cab mats
    [IMG]
as seen in prvious pics got the hub caps buffed up, not perfect but look alot better
    from this..

  6. whats the deal with washer jets for Mot? should I just pressurise it and hope for the best?

  7. Another full day on Archie today, picked up some wood and started on the flooring!
started with a 6mm infill piece
    [IMG]
cut a notch out for the sink drain pipe
    [IMG]
cut the 9mm top piece to shape and trial fitted
    [IMG]
stripped it back out, had loads of thermowrap stuff left so stuck a layer down
    [IMG]
put the top piece back in and secured it from underneath:thumbsup:
fitted the left side speaker but once I got it fitted it suddenly dawned on me that the pedal will foul it on the drivers side if i put it in the same place:rolleyes: all cos of the daft sticky out bit on the end of the pedal:thinking:
may have to position it slightly differently or make a new set of kick panels which I dont really want to be doing hmmmm
also got the washer jet hoses connected up to check the pressure which seems ok!
    so a good day!:chewie:

  8. and another full day on Archie to complete the bank holiday weekend hatrick!
Started with laying the lino down to get the shape
    [IMG]
got it stuck down and cut the arches out
    [IMG]
before I put the panels on I filled the sills with waxoyl from inside
    [IMG]
    fitted some sound deadening pads
    [IMG]
got the all of the panels fitted
    [IMG]
fitted some of the cooker bits to make sure everything still lined up
    [IMG]

Really pleased with how its looking :chewie:dropped him off at the garage this afternoon ready for his MOT in the morning! wish me luck!

  9. Zed

    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

The daft sticky out bit on the acc pedal is supposed to stick down, not forwards - it's a stop. Years of tying to squeeze more beans from the engine have squashed it out the front. Either bend it back or chop it right off if you can't get full throttle.

  10. cheers zed! that makes sense thought it was a bit daft to have a random bit sticking out the end! cheers mate:thumbsup:

  11. Archie PASSED his MOT today! with nothing but a dodgy tyre wall which got replaced! while he was there got them to give him a service aswell then picked him up tonight on my way home. Was an Awsomeeeeeeeeee drive home:).
Once I got back I put a temporary membrane behind the doorcard to stop the water pi$*ing out of the air vents while hes parked in the airport car park, last thing I need is to get back to an Archie full of water!

Soooooo just waiting on my new interior to be made (or started) but im getting negative vibes from them, gonna ring tomorrow and see what the crack is! would be nice if it was done for when I get back but I think thats hopefull thinking:thinking:

came back to some deliveries consisting of under seat mats and sliding door sill so should get them fitted this weekend!
Also need to ring about the interior to see if there is any progress:rolleyes:
