Archies Resto, and so it begins...

  1. So today I cleared the old chap out, cusions, cookware, perishables and anything else which could go stinky! was quite sad to do actually! A few pics to start off what could be a very long thread...

    so.. I know its nothing exciting but its a start, he goes in the workshop tomorrow.
    First job Interior out! pics to come. :D
     
  2. What are your plans for the resto?

  4. Replacing jacking points, outriggers, bottom sils, basically going round the bottom 6 inches checking welds.
    Replacing seatbelt anchor points and battery tray.
    Taking all the windows out and fixing any frames that need tlc then filling and flatting the whole body and a respray in dove blue :D then anything else i find on the way haha

    I got a spare 45mins after work today so got the curtains down, the cooker and fridge out the front seat off its mounts and the 240 sockets and hook up diconnected

    Not much but its a start!

  14. Nope needs doing now! Will be ready for camping season plus he needs to be smart as he's my best van for the wedding! ( 2015 ) :)

  16. I used mine for my wedding this year and mine is in worse condition and has gaffer tape on the wheel arch holding it together! ;D but it did look good as it had a brown van next to it and a green one too good luck with the resto ;D :thumbsup:

  18. Bit of an update got the rest of the units out, seatbelts out!

    Got his wheel,bracket and front bumper off, found where the wheel had been retaining and dripping water on the front panel is a bit worse for wear but all in all not bad at all :)
     
  19. First off happy new year everyone!
    Had a few hours on Archie today this is how I got on...
    first job was the passenger side seat belt anchor point...before

    cut it out and mde the new piece fit

    welded into place and cleaned up

    then etch primed for now!

    Then after sanding the door down found a hole

    cut out the bad metal
    [​IMG]
    welded in a new piece grinded up then filled it
    [​IMG]
    [​IMG]
    and did a little bit of welding on the inside to be finished off next time!

    So fairly happy so far so good! :D sorry about some of the picture quality.
     
  20. Looking good mate I think you'll find a bit more than your expecting, you always do! Where abouts are you based?
