  1. yeh so was i zed they do hold it but its quite heavy so it doesnt just ping up like the original which is light in comparison . @nicko_1982 ill take some more pics tomorrow if i get chance , where are you ? if you were close id show you and even help you fit one if you did go for it . ok bud

  2. oh swansea bit too far but i will help with pics if you want .;)

  3. I had a JK roof cap but I decided to investigate the leaks before fitting it, I scraped off the black cracked vinyl stuff and got the hose pipe on it, all the leaks were down to loose rivits, a pack of rivits and some decent mastic cured everything incl the skylight

  4. their you go then , get keith ta sort it for you or buy his cap :D, i bet it was yours the sold me cheap lol

  5. Doesn't help that they have a kerzillion rivets in the top of them!!

It doesn't really make sense as to why devon decided to use a multi section roof, as opposed to making one in GRP... the lower section that sits on the roof is GRP...

  6. I did sell it but it was before I found the forum, sold the cap and updated springs but I kept the mastic :)

  7. @Barneyrubble - I'm based in Gloucestershire now and haven't updated my avitar as yet. Is that any closer to you?

  8. blimee bet your roof dont arf pop up then :D

  9. Certainly a lot of them :(
Worst job was scrapping that black s--t off tho, hot air gun is a must

  10. no not really bud , still 200 miles ish , have think , the only thing i will say is everyone thinks it looks ok , plus the seagul poop comes off easy ;) and it doesnt blow off when your doing 80 down the motorway either ay @Silver :D Its really easy to fit bar the springs but i can talk you thru that one if you have a few hrs .

  11. The last one I did had household gloss on a coat of vinyl... that was not fun getting it off!! o_O

  12. i agree paul , just wish they had made a built in upstand in the caps for the roof light which would make more sense too!!

  13. That sounds awful Paul, I'll have to try and get it undercover and do a bit at a time trying to work out which rivets are shafted and drill them out and replace.

  14. How did you put your cap on Barney?
Mine has 1or2 bolts on each corner, did you use glue as well?

  15. Might as well replace all?

  16. but that will cost me a small fortune. I've got heaps to buy for the bus this year including:
    Full seal set
    Propex
    Roof??
    LPG conversion?

It's going to be an expensive one! but i guess sensible to have a dry bus rather than one which is warm and wet or great mpg but wet!!

  17. i only used four bolts , i did silaflex as my bellows were ok and i didnt want it to vibrate but it would be a bugger if i wanted to get it off , if i did it again id just bolt it and put some rubber or pyrosorb on to stop it bouncing , i lagged mine under too .

  18. have you thought about the roof lining if you do that?

  19. yeh it does help to keep it warm in winter and cool in summer and it wont sweat , does work ;)
