  1. Suck it and see then. Couple of pegs and a bin bag lol.

Or a Jewsons plastic tarp. I think Fiamma have already had a chunk of my cash and not finished yet - when it rains I'm supposed to fit a tensioning bar in the middle - the brackets are built in but said bar is not included, so according to the sticker on the leg, the alternative is - "if it rains, put it away"!

    Bang goes another £40-50.

cheeky but it does look like quality gear. Saw the centre bar on the video and thought it was overkill but if water is going to pond then you probably need it. With a tarp youd just drop the legs a bit or chase it off the top with some judicial prodding

Yes drop a leg as well so they say. I think I'll just buy the ruddy thing before I ruin the canvas by letting water pool on it. Bit daft to shut the door after the horse has bolted.

  5. But wher you going to carry it?

  6. These look very interesting but not sure about all the bracket shenanigans:confused: will have to take a closer look as we were considering a canopy as a simpler solution when touring than a driveaway awning.

    :p
In my mouse hole with my windbreak, kites and windy handle for the awning. Not a bulky item. :)

  8. Thanks good point. That is why I'm very glad you are going through the experience, before I commit!

  9. What is that floor made of?

This is what I had. I'll be selling it I suppose.

  12. Cool. Will have to show the wife. We have some in an upstairs toilet and I still remember the sharp intake of breath when I heard the price. Looks really nice though.

When I bought some I was lucky and got the end of a roll. When the guy who donated this lot bought his, he was forced to buy enough to easily do 3 vans x 3m wide - about 18 sqm to get a bit 1.5m x 1.5m! IIRC, I daren't look, it's about £50/sq m so he must have bought almost £1K of it.

  14. Just checked and that is the same stuff we have upstairs but in a different colour. Will have to keep my eyes peeled on fleabay as there is no way I am spending 1k even for nice flooring for the bus! In the meantime will stick with the kevlar indestructible westy green carpet.

Indeed, when I bought some for the early it cost about £150 and I was spitting at that price! It could be worth phoning round for an end of roll "bargain".

  16. I finally got the chance to google these and am about to go into post-traumatic shock having seen the price!!

Over the years I've had a small frame awning, a massive framed awning, a figure of eight and poles sun canopy.
The sun canopy nearly did it for me, but this I hope will be more robust and as said take no space in the van.
    So that's awning - £
    Brackets £50
    Pro rafter plop stick £50

Not so bad if you buy it in Europe – I bought mine in the UK and then moved to France.:(

  19. Yes I saw the rafter stick and fell over again! Lol

All looks way too expensive and nickable by some moron who will trash the side of the van bending the brackets off.;)

We have a driveaway awning for longer trips+optional guests, a lightweight drive away awning for shorter trips and now looking for an even quicker and lashier one for touring.

  20. I think this might exceed my brother's ryanair baggage allowance next time he comes though.
