Do you have a picture with your awning on the bus

I nearly did that but I thought no point as the extra bit would just be hanging in mid air?

I don't have room to unfurl it indoors and as yet I don't have an engine.

    I meant unfurled

Aye, like I said, no room and I can't be arsed to push it outside just for a look - I can wait. :)

  11. Yeah, just been reading this and wondering if I could just bolt one straight on to my high top too. A bit fed up of carrying the awning around ... it's a PITA to put up too.

Found this link too, but it says T2/T3 so I guess these are the same as the T25 ones mentioned previously.

  12. Yes you could bolt it straight on to your high top.

The brackets in the link require modification to fit a T2. Pretty sure they are the ones @zed got. They are incorrect in saying they are for a T2 I think

Yes they are the ones and yes they need need messing with.
If it's grp high top you'd want big spreader plates inside, it's a heavy thing.

  14. Had crossed my mind.

Have had a quick look at the manual. Looks like even if they fit directly they still use a basic flat bracket. Are these included?

    Quite tempted.

Yes they are, but I think the internal plate assumes you're bolting it to something quite strong. IIRC the whole thing weighs 23kg and as you wind it out before you take the weight with the legs it might rip through GRP.

  16. I suppose they're often mounted on coachbuilt motorhomes though...they're probably more flimsy than my hitop. Still, some sort of reinforcement is probably a good idea. According to the website the weight is 11.5 - 30kg depending on size... which model did you go for?

    F45S 2.4m IIRC.

  18. image.jpeg Eventually fitted the Outhaus awning, the brackets were a bloody pain....
But reckon will make camping easier and matches the grey NLA roof bag.
    Seems pretty good quality. image.jpeg

  19. Would you believe that I have the receipt from the VW dealer in San Francisco who had them painted, along with the van being undersealed....cost $70 ! (in 1979)
