B&Q ? You're 'avin a laugh mate, have you seen their prices? No Ray, we're booked in for a hamburger (with onions) at the tea wagon in the B&Q car park.
I'm think about doing my project bus with a roller do you need to use the rustoleum primer or is it compatible with any primer?. My bus has been primed by previous own and left outside so I'm going back to metal the zinc 182 aerosols.
i can't really discuss the longevity of the finish because it's only been on there two days but I just used a bog standard spray primer from our local bike shop. Used white spirit from the same shop to thin the rustoleum and it 'seems' to have gone on ok. Mostly the people who actually know what they're talking about seem to advise Etch Primer or Zinc Primer which is probably a lot better than the stuff I bought.
No, and it does say on the tin it goes directly onto metal but......some big boys on here made me prime it first.
No names, no pack drill, but the identity of the main bully who made me use primer might be very very close to this post. In fact, what we have here might be called a "Great Bloke" - "Bully" - "Great Bloke" sandwich.
It serves no other purpose than as a surfacer, but I find it then makes even brush painting so much easier than when you have parts in paint and parts sanded through, maybe some filler where it's been vandalised...
As I mentioned before, we did my son's T25, prompted by the 'Paint your Wagon' thread. http://forum.club8090.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=18751
I've got a radiator in there so it's quite warm with that turned on and the gaps under doors blocked with some old rags.
Yup, second coat on and i used a new foam roller for this one. It did seem to be putting thousands of tiny air bubbles in the paint though, so i rollered it quickly to get the paint on and then gently laid the paint off with a brush. It came out pretty good. Even with just two coats and no buffing it looks much better than when I started. To be honest getting photobloodybucket to work has proved more difficult than painting a van.
Looks better than my paint gun job... But it was my first go... I'll be rustoliuming the engine bay though so will check here for tips..
