  5. I'm quite busy too, bit I'm aiming for every other week or so.

    This isn't my exclusive thing though everyone. If you're the walking type, suggest somewhere or a date you can make or both. You don't have to do any more than that.

  7. Evening all, I've gone and got myself a new target.

    I've been persuaded to do a 10k run in December. So that gives 5 months to get fitter

  10. I've been a bit quiet on this over the summer, my social life has flourished but I've still been doing some exercise.

    We've been canoeing, mountain biking, parkrunning, walking and still doing the gym classes

    2 weeks ago I went for a longer run than I'd done before and ended up doing a pinch over 10k. I walked a couple of bits bit got round in about 1 hour 15.

    Then yesterday we went for a little walk




    Can you guess where we went?

    My legs are tired today, but less achey than after the mudder, so I'm taking that as a positive sign.

  12. It was rammed when we got to the top!

    Really surprised me as the route we went up was pretty quiet, went about an hour without seeing anyone else

  15. Lots and lots of walkers too, I'd have happily rode the train down but at £22 each, it seemed a bit steep to me.

  19. I've got achey legs again today

    Yesterday I did my 21st parkrun, then last night I met up with my friends from the mudder and we did the "Gung-ho spooktacular"

    It was a 5k with inflatable obstacles and the later starters got chased by zombies

    We got round in about an hour.





    Then we went out and are pies and drank our own bodyweight in cocktails

    The next target is looming, 6 weeks until the 10k Christmas cracker run!

  20. Seems I forgot to update this..

    Training for the 10k was going ok, I'd started getting a few longer runs in and even got myself out for a few evening runs in the cold and dark.

    Then at the end of November I got a good dose of concussion and apparently went a bit weird for a while. The Dr told me to stop training until I was better. So I went into the 10k having only been back at work a week and not done anything more strenuous that a walk to the shops for 3 weeks.

    It was a pretty flat course but over half of it was along the beach, thankfully hardish damp sand rather than the dry loose stuff. I found it very tough and couldn't keep up with my friend i had hoped to run with. But I did it, and didn't walk any of it. I think my time was about 1hr 16ish but I didn't care, I was super chuffed just to have made it.


    That pic was before the start, I looked as ruined as I felt at the finish.
