what security do you have on your t2?

  1. Heres another thing I was seriously considering. A huge thick chain around the brick column of my porch then padlock it under the van.
I didnt bother as I knew my wife would probably use it when Im at work and rip the roof off the porch.

  2. Which one was that? The only pedal lock I've heard of is the Safe-T-Lock which is a big boxy thing which covers the pedals completely.

  3. I have an emotional bond with mine. I *****ing hate it. Its outside my house, if you want to nick it you'll need to fit your own carb on it :p

  4. Or push it / lift it onto a lorry.....

The purple one that got taken the other day wasn't drivable but they still took it!

  6. Agree.

It'd break my heart if mine got taken, but it's only a metal box!

  7. BLASPHEMERS!!!

Ive literally spilt blood sanding, grinding, cutting, sawing and welding my metal box and it still looks crap! Ill be damned if some thieving scum wrench it from my heart!! Even if the barstewards can find reverse.

  8. Having read this thread I just bought a wheel clamp. Since the rash purchase I'm wondering if they would still manage to drag it along anyway? I have other security stuff in place but they wouldn't stop a drag.

  15. Posh.

  16. I sometimes take the rotor arm out if I leave it in a car park etc, so unless they bring their own it'll need lifting !

I have to admit, despite not owning my van for long - and having insurance - I would be slightly miffed if someone decided to help themselves to it whilst I'm off on my holidays this coming weekend; so off I toddled after work today to the mecca that is the Salisbury branch of Halfords in search of some kind of steering wheel lock thing. The choice of exactly two wasn't particularly awe inspiring, especially as they both looked pretty much the same (barring the £15 price difference) and neither looked like they would grip my skinny little 1974 steering wheel, or indeed be long enough to span its gargantuan diameter. Thus I left empty handed, and am in search of experienced advice please... does anything fit? And if so, what?

  19. One of those £17 amazon trackers work well. Set it to text you if the doors open. Job done.
