Buying from late bay members

why not have a buyer seller scale so members can check how good they are

 

By ultimately, I meant restoring with the intention of selling the finished/restored bus. And if an item is advertised for sale, surely everyone has the opportunity to buy.
Incidentally, I've had only good experiences on this forum. One bought twice. Given once. And been given to (not got round to using them yet though)

 

Just to add my tuppence worth if you don't get the items you have paid for, then it is worth contacting your local police station, as these people are a menace to honest trader's and ordinary folk who are selling their items.
My feelings are if they have done it to you then you are probably not the first.

I've had no problems buying (and selling) on here. Even had a couple of things for free from some nice people (including a set of wheels and tyres that I collected from a front garden in Cambridge - I do hope I went to the correct front garden...).

 

I've got the same along with a few others on earlybay, its only £15 but its not only the principle - its theft.

 

I've bought, can't remember if sold !!! Given away and taken for free. Swapped(goods not partners) Asked for postage only (never cashed the cheque) Hopefully said thanks to all . If not . Thanks. It was what I liked about the late bay. Kept me coming back. Not met many peeps yet but those I have are always polite and friendly.

how about locking the for sale sections for posts, for members with less than 20-30 posts for example (excluding sponsors)

.....that way you wont get one-off signing up just to sell stuff? .....they might engage in TLB a bit more if they have to write more posts?

 

I've had great buying experiences from here from the likes of @Chrisradioman , @Keith.H and @Baysearcher.

Had one bout of being messed around chronically, but lesson learnt.

As an aside, the glory hole they mention on Gold Diggers tv show, the one where it's a hole with gold in it, is categorically not the same as the one @rickyrooo1 has been advertising...

 

I think the idea of leaving feedback contributing to an overall rating would be useful in recalibrating some individuals but unfortunately wont stamp out any opportunists.
